At the moment I would say that I'm likely to attend. I'll wait a bit before I say that I'm very likely to attend. And at the moment, I'm feeling like I'll be bringing the Chaos Dwarfs. Though that could change, but so far, Chaos Dwarfs.

Well, I am down for the rugged dwarves. I am already starting the world cup fund. I am stoked about the mohawk idea....the only problem.... I think I will need a hair transplant to grow one

Good to see such interest in the WC. Just wondering if there are any coaches in western Canada who are thinking of attending, maybe we could get 2 Team Canadas (East and West). I know the Thunderbowl in Vancouver has a large league and a league has started up again in Calgary (I think there's one in Edmonton too). I would be nice to know how many of them are thinking of going to the WC next year (though I don't see very many posting on these forums, but hopefully that will change).

I would also like to see a Western/Esatern Canada presence at the WC.

I have put out some feelers to the West but not heard anything back yet.
Hopefully soon.

Are you in the West Colin?

The notion of a Team Canada West is definitely in talks right now amongst our membership for World Cup. We'll know more in 6 months. I'm glad to see that the East is going to be represented. Good job so far Joe in trying to herd the cats. Wink

Craig.

Sorry about the league but good to know some more about a part of the West. I think there have been some events in Red Deer. i remember trying to plan to go to one, before i realised how big Canada was Sad

Awesome!

Depending on what happens we don't have to be restrictive, a mixed team or teams would be awesome too. But this could be a great event to get the national scene connected in Canada.
I am going to change my signature right now!!

I was the one who ran the league and tourney in Red Deer at a gaming club that closed down last year (interest in BB had been dwindling at the club a while before it closed down so I wasn't running a league at that thime, more people into WH and 40K, which must have been dwindling too or else they wouldn't have closed down)

Anyway, good to hear that there are plans for a Team Canada from the West. Not sure if I will be able to afford to go as my union is just entering contract negotiations, so will know in a couple of months (but the outlook isn't very hopefull because of the world economy).

Well with 6 players per team how will we deside who plays on which team?

I am not worried just yet about having too many players Smile

But team selection may also involve race limits, so that is why I asked what race people want to play.

If it does come down to selecting players I am tempted to do it on a regional basis. This makes sense as we may have Western and Eastern teams anyway, so we could add a central team to the mix.

But I am only going to worry about team selection when over 6 people have booked their flights!!!!

Okay folks, preregistration for the world cup is next week.

I need people to firm up whether they can come or not so I can book our spots. The thing sold out easily in 07.

Canada has 4 slots, partly because we have so much interest here in the east. I plan to book two teams for the East on Wednesday, but I don't want to wast anyone's time so please reconfirm/withdraw depending on your your decision Smile
Cheers,
Joe
