Spazz, wasn't Dan. I'm the one who thought that we were going to use the new Khemri roster, and wanted to get Joe to make sure that everybody was aware of the changes. But as the new rosters are not used (only rules clarification), it is now a moot point. Wink

I think that it's the first time that I'll see Dan playing with a "real" team. Now, will he do any better. Laughing Laughing

This is going to be interesting. Chris is not playing Lizards. Joe is not playing Orcs (or so he tells me). Dan is playing a real team. Ben is a surprise. I'm playing Orcs. Eric, well, he's still Eric. Wink

that didn't go so well the last time. I played a tournie in 2003 (one of only 2 in england that I went to) with humies and they kinda sucked, finished 5th at the first Carnage (called Cam Carnage then). Switched to Orcs for the Student Nationals the next year and won so thats the story.

I have to wean myself off the orcs somehow.....

Joe only finishing fifth <gasp> What is the world coming to? Wink

Maybe this is your time to redeem yourself with the humies - show the Blood Bowl community at large just how good you are (or just how bad the North Americans suck)!

Spazz, the only thing you'll own is a large kitchen utensil.

Why all the secrecy Joe? Don't want people to plan strategies against your team in advance? What are you bringing?

For me, if I can remember not to dodge with my BoBs, I should do OK.

Nice, but your sharing a room with Eric will not be the only spoon you are getting that weekend buddy! Very Happy

Joe can hide his team and foolishly think that this will give him an advantage, but know this Byers, this tournament will break our tie streak - one of us is going to lose to the other, and I have no intention of letting you beat me! Be prepared to be beaten as I humbly accept my victory over you by dancing around the room! Laughing

Hehehe!

Its not a secret, its really not decided yet!

This is not a decision to be taken lightly.

After all Da'lanche are the defending champions after all.

But I am willing to appease my fans and play another race, it is just a complex decision with all sorts of ramifications.

p.s. Spazz, I don't need a lap dance when I beat you. cheers though!

I'd like to draw everyone's attention to the scoring system for the tournament (its in the rules online but I know people don't read them)

Tournament points

Tournament points may be gained in three ways:
1) Game Play
2) Sportsmanship
3) Team appearance

1) Points from Game play

Points from game play are very simple. Three points for a win, one for a tie and zero for a loss.
Game Result Tournament Points
Win 3
Tie 1
Loss 0

During the tournament, teams with the same number of points will be separated by one of the following tie-breakers.

Order Tie breaker
1 (TD +/-) + (CAS =/-)
2 TD scored
3 CAS caused

This may be important to determine which coaches play each other in any given round.

2) Sportsmanship

After each game you must rank your opponent for sportsmanship. The default ranking is good sport (2). Each coach has the opportunity to mark their opponent up or down depending on their opinion of their sportsmanship.

Sportsmanship Points

A Good Sport
Your opponent was pleasant all game, even when dice and circumstances went against him. You would happily play this coach again, anytime.

The Default Score 2

A Poor Sport
Your opponent was not enjoyable to play. Constant arguing about the rules or constant complaining can be reasons for this score.
An uncommon tournament experience. 1

A Terrible Sport
Your opponent was a miserable fool. They whined about their dice, your dice, BloodBowl, Nuffle, the weather, and pretty much everything else. They also argued about the rules endlessly. You could live your whole life and if you ever saw them again it would be too soon.
No one should get this rating. If they do, an explanation is required. 0

An Amazing Sport
Your opponent made your game one of the best you???ve ever had. It is impossible to imagine them being any more friendly or accommodating.
A unique experience. Giving more than one opponent this rating during a tournament would be questioned. There is no requirement to give anyone this rating. 3

At the end of the tournament, the average sportsmanship score a player received will be added to their total.

3) Team Appearance

A total of 3 tournament points are available for team appearance. It should be possible to gain maximum points with a little effort. There are several different ways to gain the two points.

Appearance category Scores

Painted
Each model has at least three paint colours with no undercoat showing. 0.5

Detailed
The models have the details painted with noticeable effect. 0.5

Based
The bases are painted and textured 0.5

What you see is what you get
Models are obviously representative of the player they portray. 0.5

Numbered
Each model has a number which is obvious from the front and the back. 0.5

Uniqueness
The team is unique in some way, with a model or models which are not just ???off the peg???. 0.5

Tournament Total

The winner of the tournament will be determined by the player with the most points after game 6.

If two players are tied on points, then the following tie breakers will be used.

Rank Tie-Breaker
1 Result between coaches
2 Most Game Play points
3 Most Sportsmanship points
4 (TD +/-) + (CAS =/-)
5 TD scored
6 CAS caused

So the maximum points that could be acheived is

6 games x 6 wins (3 points each)= 18 points

(6 games x 6 sportsmanship ratings (max 3 each))/6 games = 3 points maximum (very unlikely as each player may give only one 3 rating and don't have too)

Painting = 3 points

So you could end up with 24 points, however 2 is probably the most likely sportsmanship average.
So 23 becomes the max.

All this to say that having a painted/based/numbered/representative/converted team is worth the same as a win!!!!!!!!!!!!

This cost a couple of people a few places last year!

Would it not be: 6 games ?? 3 Points/Game Max = 18 Pts. ? or 12 Pts. @ 2 Points/Game.

That would make a Max of 35 Pts @ maximun Sportsmanship or 29 Pts. @ average Sportsmanship?
