Yeah what Cramy said.

It really is just to help your oponents and yourself work out which players are which quickly.
You also get some painting points for stuff being obvious too, so it could help you in multiple ways.

It can look pretty good too.

I foget how easy it is to tell your positionaly skellies apart but your mummies are obvious.

As started with the 1st Deathbowl I attended (DBIV), which was the 1st to have a race specific theme, I created team logos. So, I shall continue the tradition and present this as the temporary logo for my team since I cannot come up with a better name as of right now.

I was feeling kinda 'gansta' when I came up with this idea and it does not realy fit the team as it stands right now. But, I held a poll in the local area for the team name and this was the result. This is the last time I hold a vote in Brampton where everyone wants to be 'gangsta' despite their middle income status. Go Brampton!!! Where local 'Bloods', 'Crips' and 'Ghosts' all exist in harmony despite their mutual hatred, and desire to killl eachother exists in other areas Confused . Gotta love this town . . . Rolling Eyes

Now that you mention it, it does kinda look that way Razz

In fact it says SCrows which could be pronounced either as 'Scrows' or 'Ess Crows'. And thinking about it the 2nd pronounciation would actually fit the theme when you coralate it to the movie Pumpkinhead . . .

It would seem more likely that he will leave some money in trust with the T.O. to be given to any opponent who allows him to win!

Wa'evah!

Hey Joe (where you goin' with that gun in your hand) you never did answer that question about that base rings. And if you did, then I didn't see it, which means that it doesn't count and you have to answer it again.

you lazy so and so!

it is at the top of tha page dude!!! the same one you posted on.

Base rings are NOT compulsory.

However, they could help you get some points for painting.
And they can be nice for your oponent.

The painting points are added to your tournament points to determine the final standings.
The maximum points each team can get is 2.5, just less than one win!

Painted : All models are fully painted, with a minimum of 3 colours 0.5
Based: All models have a painted and textured base. 0.5
Numbered: All models are numbered in a visible way. 0.5
Detailed: All models are highlighted/shaded or detailed in a noticeable way. 0.5
Conversion: At least one model on the team is significantly different to normal 0.5
Representative: All the models on the team are representative of the player they depict. Or The models are identified by their base ring colour (see appendix) 0.5

just for completeness i thought I would include the tournament points from Gameplay here

Tournament points from Game play
Win vs. direct opponent = 3
Tie vs. direct opponent = 1
Loss vs. direct opponent = 0

Bonus points
Scored most TDs on table = 2
Tied for most TDs on the table =1
Caused the most CAS (from blocking) on the table = 1

So for each game you can get a maximum of 6 points
(3 win vs direct opponent, +2 for most TDs on table and +1 for most CAS)

As there are 4 games at the tournament the absolute maximum from gameplay is 24 points
It is unlikely anyone will get 4 maximums...........

The painting points will be added to the gameplay points to determine who finishes where so 1st place could be decide by painting.

If you look at the points scoring for painting it is only about effort not ability. And there are 6 categories, each worth half a point, so you only need to meet 5 of them to get the maximum points.

I am going to use Eric's excuse and say that it was Talons who posted on my account - we all know how that guy is about reading rules properly!

MAGNETS

For anyone who is interested, I have ordered more magnets of various sizes, and in order to be able to use my credit card I had to order $50 worth of product which is a LOT of magnets! If people want to magmetize their bases then I can do this for you before the tourney, or between games - in Deathbowl with how crowded things get this is almost a must!

This is the site where I get them from:
http://www.indigo.com/magnets/rare-earth-magnets.html

I only have the Amex, and to use that it has to be $50 worth of product. If I had another card there would not be that restricion. No worries, I am sure there will be plenty of people interested!
