The Challenge of Q'ermitt VII
May 14-15th, 2011

This is a quick blurb to let people know of the dates that I will be looking at for the tourney. I will be posting the full rules here later, but there will be no changes to the format that was held last year.

So that means:

*All teams will be created to a maximum value of 1,250,000.

*Teams must be created using the rules of the most current LRB (I.e. the C.R.A.P. rulebook)
*Players may not spend more than 150,000 on skills (see detailed rules under team creation)
*Goblin teams (not Underworld) may take bribes at a cost of 50K
*Halfling teams may take the Master Chef at a cost of
*Star players may be purchased during the team creation phase at the listed cost

It will be a League Style tournament
As a league style tournament all aspects of league play will be implemented, SPPs, cash, etc.

Team creation
Teams buying skills must follow these guidelines:
(0-16) players may only have one skill each*
Teams may buy a maximum of two attribute increases
Any Star Players purchased may not buy any additional skills at the point of team creation

Remeber also, that Star Players may be purchased at the time of team creation at their listed cost. They can be improved through accumulation of SPPs through tournament play but will have a pre-set number of SPPs that they begin with, depending on how many skills they would have already gained.

Any Star Players that begin with a team DO NOT have the Loner skill, as they have been playing with the team since their rookie days.

[b]There can only be one of any given Star Player, so the first coach to tell me (through PM) that they are wanting to buy a particular Star Player will be the only one who can purchase that Star. I will be updating this first post as time goes on to indicate whichStars are no longer available.

When can we start "drafting" Star Players?

@natsirm - yeah, 1,170,000 that is what I meant. As for the chefs, not free, but I was contemplating their cost.

@Zap - draft away baby, draft away.....

Since Lizardcore won't be there, I guess you will need me to stink the place up. Have gas, will travel.

The rules posted on Eric's site show 1,250,000 for the total cost available. One of them (this post or the PDF of the rules) should be changed before the start of the tournament. Smile

Thanks very much kikurasis for drawing my attention to this, as I have now seen my error. I think I was starting with the 1,170,000 last year, but then changed afterwards. I just kicked things off this year with a cut and paste remembeing that I wanted to run it the same way.

THE AMOUNT FOR THE TEAM CREATION FOR THE CHALLENGE OF Q'ERMITT VII WILL BE:

1,250,000

Please note the stipulations on the team creation that are included in the cicomprehensive rules section on the website. I will post them here as well to help ensure that people are aware.

These are important rules concerning team creation.

Basic TeamTeams may be made up to the full value of 1,250,000
with staff and players if the coach wishes. No more than 150,000 in skills may be purchased but the team during team creation. The base team includes any players (including pre-purchased star players), coaching staff, Fan Factor and re-rolls.

Inducementsmay not be bought as part of the starting team. The
exceptions are: goblin teams may purchase bribes and Halfling teams may purchase the Master Chef. Both teams may purchase these inducements as permanent parts of their team at the full listed costs.

Skills and Attribute IncreasesUp to 150,000 GC in skills and attribute increases may be purchased for the players during team creation. The cost for upgrading any one player will be as follows:

ï‚Ÿ 1st skill or increase: regular cost
ï‚Ÿ 2nd skill or increase: regular cost +10,000 g.p.
ï‚Ÿ 3rd skill or increase: regular cost +20,000 g.p.

This applies to any individual player. So, for example, several members of the team could get one skill each and therefore only the basic costs of the skills would be charged. It is only when one player receives more than one skill that the extra charges are applied. Should a coach want to buy more than three skills for any one player, then any further increases will be charged an extra 20,000 g.p. per skill.

Since it's league style, do casualties/SI/death remain, or do the teams resurrect each round?

There is no resurrection! That is part of what made is so interesting last year, because suddenly people were not so cavalier about making those 2dice opponent chooses blocks at the end of the game!

But there will, of course, be inducements available once the two teams figure their TVs before the game begins.

Heads up to anyone who is booking time off in advance. The tournament might be a wek later, but I will not know for certain until the Canadian Open. For now, I am going to operate on the idea that WILL BE ON THE 30TH OF APRIL, 1ST OF MAY.

I will post as soon as I know if the date changes.

Ugh!, date changes are not good...hopefully can still arrange for this one as it is still 2 months away. Can't make it to Canadian Open for the same reason. I hope I'm still able to attend regardless. Completely understand the necessity for it to be changed sometimes just don't like missing tournies is all. Guess we'll have to wait and see...

Don't arrange anything yet, until I get things nailed down.
