Was contacted by an official GW supplier store that is interested in doing a one day official GW Blood Bowl tournament for a gaming weekend he is putting together ... using the GenCon Bowl rules (with my modifications based on lessons I learned at GenCon 2003)
He would like to do the tournament in one day ... 4 games.
I did the math and I could run a 4 game tournament from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm. If such a touranment was in Northern Indiana (3 to 3 1/2 hours from Chicago, Indianapolis, and Detriot) would there be interest in a one day blow out the stops tournament???
I might be able to get folks a discount on pre-ordered BB stuff if they pick it up at the tournament as an extra from coming. Just a thought.

I general I'd say I'm interested (if it's on a Saturday even more).
Limiting factors are:
- When will it be?
- The snow we just got the last two days!
- My and my wifes schedule
- The snow which is expected this year!! |

If the tournament is on Saturday and the entry few isn't to high I have 6 people including me that would make the trip. Got everyone in my league to agree, a one day thing is more up their alley anyway. |

Weather permitting I could most likely make it, and bring one or two others. Would this be in the Fort Wayne area? |

South Bend area.
The entry fee is looking to be about $20 a person which includes the touranment AND the convention entry fee.
Nothing concrete ... the space isn't even rented yet.
But the thought is that the tournament would be the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. It will be an official GW event ... the 40k tournament is being planned for Sunday.
It will registered for NAF as well. I'm working on the prizes for it ... you know me ... if I have a tournament got to have goodies for prizes, but I don't expect anything like what we had for GenCon.
Again nothing is concrete, but I wanted to see if the burnout potential of a 12 hour tournament would even have interest, and it appears that it might be doable. Cool enough.
Hearing that team Indy would come is cool ... would like to met the folks from my area other than Brian.
We would use the GenCon system with my revisions based on lessons learned from last year. So Zug is 160k, Xtreme
We might also try out the new skill gaining system I wanted to try for GenCon.
After each game you can do one of the following:
1) Give a player with Big Guy a NORMAL skill roll
2) Give a normal roster player a DOUBLES skill roll (no stat increases)
3) Give two normal roster players a NORMAL skill roll.
Have this be the rule for after each round of the tournament. Chet and I had discussed this ... I think it has potential.

Doesn't look like I will ever be able to take advantage of his price again.
What convention would this be part of? |

Let me know the date you do this and I would definitely go out of my way to try to make it there. South Bend is an alright driving distance by my standard. |

The gaming stores in the area are thinking about starting a new one, and South Bend used to have a very large Blood Bowl tabletop league (30+ coaches) ... it where I was introduced to the game.
Sean Newboy (Sean Baker), Ombi (Jim Morgan), and I all came from that league. I still buy a lot of my gaming stuff from my old store in South Bend since the local stores have given me a pretty cold shoulder when I've come to visit.
Good enough ... now to get to work on it and I really should start doing some planning for GenCon.

You can add in at least 4 from Fort Wayne, IN. Possibly more from the Fort Wayne League (13 coaches and counting). Keep us posted on whether it's happening or no. Hopefully I'll improve on my GenCon showing. |
