Hi guys!
Isn't there a rule that states that if you can't put 3 guys on the line you lose the game, but don't abandon it, meaning that you keep your cash and your MVP award?
COuldn't find it.

Check this www.specialist-games.com/bloodbowl/assets/pdf/tlr/LRB3Q&A.pdf
Appart from it, nothing is clear in the LRB, but basically it boils down to setting up at least 3 players (or as much as you can if you have less than 3 players left for that drive) on the LOS and waiting for the pounding you'll get from your opponent.
You don't have to conceed if you have less than 3 players. |

If you have less than 3 players, you put on whatever you have and defend as best you can. If you have zero, then it should be easy for the other team to score as soon as they manage to pick up the ball!
I believe if you have less than 3 players to field for a kickoff, you're allowed to forfeit without a penalty, but i know for sure that you're never forced to forfeit. |

Bloodbowl Handbook
Page 6
Paragraph 3
Section 3
At least three players must be set up next to the half way line, on the line of scrimmage.
The leagues I've played in have always ruled that you must be able to follow this kick off rule or forfeit the game. Even if you are currently ahead on scores you are unable to finish the game and thus forfeit. |

That's a houserule, as this was cleared up in the link Graf posted above. There is no forced concession in the LRB. |

Old ruling:
Q: Do I have to field 11 players (or my entire team if I have less than 11 available)?
A: No. The only restriction is that 3 players must be placed on the Line of Scrimmage. So you may set up 3-11 players at a kick-off.
New ruling:
Q: What happens if I can't set up at least 3 players on the Line of Scrimmage for a kick-off?
A: You can either concede the match (see pages 15 and 44 of the Bloodbowl Handbook), or you can carry on playing. If you decide to carry on playing, you must place as many players on the Line of Scrimmage as possible.
I will pass this on to my league and see whether they wish to keep it the way it is or change it to the updated ruling. Thanks for updating me! |

I still cherish that SkinkFury was one of those coaches you decimated
In fact, I think I'll call him to remind him about it before his playoff game tonight. |

The worse I have seen is one guy playing wood elves. His whole team got desimated except for 1 wardancer. He somehow managed to win the game with the 1 wardancer. |

I checked a PBeM game were a WE team won 4-3 ending the game with no players on the field.
They'd raced into a 4-0 lead by the half, and were down to 5 fit players (all the rest BH, no SI's or Deaths - lucky guy!). The opposition (Chaos I think) started the 2nd half and in the process of scoring took the rest of the field (KO's and BH). Scored in 2. No WE came back - Chaos scored in 2. No WE cam back - Chaos scored in 2. 1 WE came back, got a Blitz and picked up the ball. Chaos killed him for his trouble, but couldn't recover the ball, and lost even though they'd hardly faced any opposition for the whole 2nd half.
Really wish I'd kept that file. |
