Is TBB down? I haven't been able to get in from work for several days (haven't tried from home). Is it just me or did I miss an announcement or something.

There are also DNS problems. Not that I know what that means. |

I do. There is some issue with the DNS propagation.
One temporary solution is to put the following line in your hosts file (normally C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts)
81.168.2.123 www.talkbloodbowl
That ought to allow you to connect. I can't connect from work, because the stupid firewall can't resolve the name and I don't have permission to go and edit its hosts file. |

I cannot get on from any computer I try, and the IP address in Doubleskull's post gets me to he PHP Postnuke site, not TBB.
Frustrating - I haven't been able to get on for a couple of months now. |

You can't go directly to the IP address. The hosting site needs the domain (talkbloodbowl.com) and the IP address to know where to send you. That's what the change to the hosts file does.

It's supposed to be a hosts FILE not a folder. Do you have one of them? |

Don't you have to tick the "view hidden files" option before it's visable? |

I don't run Win Xp - so some Hosts file is useless for me. I tired to find the closest thing - hosts.sam in the main windows directory and put it in there - but it didn't work.
(I run an old system - Win 98 and IE 5 - I'm too old and decrepid for viruses now ) |

Whoa! I just checked again adn I had a hosts file all of a sudden. I wasn't sure what program to use to open it but I gave word a whirl, added the line above, added .com to the end though. BAM! I'm onto TBB again, not that I spend much time there anymore but it's the fact that I was locked out that drove me crazy!
Thanks guys. |

I still can't get on
I'm running Win98 and IE5 (Don't laugh - my system is so old it's now almost Virus proof )
I am really, really missing TBB and I haven't been able to get on for over 4 months.
Can someone please help? I can't get on at work or home. I really, really want to be able to get onto TBB as I want to desperately catch up - but am locked out just like snots. |

Anyway, Could someone let JohnnyP know that lots of people like me are still locked out? |

Thats what I'm getting at the moment....
Thing is, I have not got the slightest idea what this means! |
