Just a few quick notes about Death Bowl III. Even though the tournament is still months away registrations are now open at www.thedeathbowl.com ( for now also the House Rulez web site )
Tournament rules are currently being hammered out for this years event.
Since the 7's round went so well last year it'll be worth full points for this years tournament. I've added Ogres and Vampires to the list this year. Ogres are going to be hard to beat in the 7's round. These are the tentative rosters for the 7's round. Thoughts?

Are the Stunty Teams still allowed their Big Guy in 7's?

If the Ogre teams stays the way it is then I'm inclined to say yes. Kind of hard to justify a team full of Ogres and not letting Halfings have their one tree now isn't it |

Ogres in the final round are going to have a big target painted on them. Smart opponents will gang up and take them out before they are taken out themselves. Ogres may be tough but there's little they can do against three opponents and no referee. |

Says you! Ogres will smash puny girls...smash puny girls FLAT!
By the way...if someone has stunties in the final...can another team's Big Guy throw them? (Assuming that the two teams agree to it.) |

ogre roster doesn't even change............
should be 0-10 ogres, 0-3 gobbos, based off other rosters. |

The ogres are the positional players on the Ogre team not the Gobbo's. All other teams have had their positional players halved so with the Ogre tem they get 6 instead of 12. They only get 6 gobs max to start with so there's no point making that higher because they won't have them on their team in the first place to pick from Remember that a coach has to build his 7's roster from players he has already on his standard roster. You are not building a new team for that round. So if on your standard roster you only have 4 ogres then you can't take more than that for your 7's team. Basically you're deciding who you'll be sitting out for that round. |

gobbos are the positional on the ogre roster. Ogres are the lineman...they are 0-12. It's like saying beastmen are the postionals on chaos team.
ogres won't even have to change their roster for 7's.
they will show up with 5 ogres 6 gobbs and 2 rr's or 6 ogres 5 gobs and 1 rr.
so for 7's they have the same roster?????? ---seems like every other team gets punished for playing 7's.....
Ogres are tough enough in regular bloodbowl....if you make the gobs 0-3 then at least they lose a couple players just like everyone else.
TR 100 for ogres in 7's vs TR 90 for just about every other team. U allowing handicaps for this?
Ogres can't take less than 5 ogres since they won't have an 11 man roster if they do. |

Other teams get punished no matter when they play against ogres
You can only make a 10 player roster for 7's. Only 7 of which get to play on the field. You're correct that Ogre teams will show up with one of the team lineups above. Of that I'm pretty sure. But it won't really make any difference if we do it your way or my way except that your way they will only be able to make an 8 or 9 player roster. Either way I do it they'll still have a full Ogre compliment on the field. It'll just be a difference of having 1, 2, or 3 gobs in the reserves box. If I do it 6 Ogres and 6 gobs they'll take the full ogres they have and fill up on gobs. The same thing will happen with 10 ogres and 3 gobs. except that they won't be able to make a full roster Do you think having less gobs in the reserves box will be enough to event the teams out?
Thinking about it I guess at least with your roster they do loose something. I just don't think it will be enough to matter. Playing that Ogre team in the 7's is going to be painfull for anyone |

well the way to beat ogres is to take out their gobs and force them to carry the ball with a player that is slower, has a harder time to pick up the ball and might not move. So having them lose 2-3 gobs is something.
and if I was playing ogres I'd just drop down to 4 ogres and 6 gobs for 7's. .....that'd be pretty competitve I think. |

I changed the roster to your suggested roster. At the very least they will have to protect the few Gobs they have. Either that or they'll play it as I would and not give a flying rats butt about the ball and just pound the snot out of their opponent. It's hard to stop an Ogre from scoring when you've got no one left on the field
So are you going to get yerself up to the DB this year or are you still afraid |

As an Ogre coach, I can tell you that the opponent often doesn't have to. Ogres tend to stop themselves at the most inopportune times. It's funny but frustrating. |

Unless they're playing Rob. Rob's Rats make Ogres look downright brilliant! |
