Okay,

We're playing in our league the other day, and this argument comes up where another player says that the commish said that if you are due to recieve to start the 2nd half, but score on turn 8 of the 1st half then you kick off instead to start the 2nd half... I've never heard this before, but they swear it's in the living rulebook. I've searched the living rulebook a couple times over and can't find it... anybody heard of this, or are do they have it wrong?

thanks,

They are wrong. There is nothing similar in the living rulebook.

Without having the rulebook in front of me, I know that it does say that the person who receives first in the first half will kick off in the seond half. This is irregardless of whether or not the person receiving in the second half scored in the last turn of the first half. If the people in your league want to play this way, they could call it a house rule, but it is not in the LRB.

What Banelord said. You always receive at the beginning of the 2nd half if you kicked at the beginning of the 1st.

Basic rules page 16 restarting the match second paragraph.

What Banelord and Doubleskulls said!

EDIT: That's in LRB4

Thanks! As you can tell I desperately seek approval from the NAF members. Smile

Leap & Big hand Gutter Runners are a nightmare if the ball is loose at all. Leap in, pickup on a 2+, dodge out & hand off for a stupidly easy score...
