In the disscussion about Spike 2006, Talons had the gaul to accuse one of my friends and league mates of cheating.
you can find the whole thread here:
http://www.bloodbowl.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&p=48949#48949
So, the question I have for you is simple, do you think that David Sutton's Dino dice are fixed? |

Sorry Wolfhowl, but I have never seen so many sixes in one game. One of the reasons that I think all tourneys should supply the dice - no exceptions
This does not mean to say that I think Dave is a cheat, as he may be unaware of feels that he is just really lucky.
...and for the record there should be a fourth option where I can say that the Dino dice are broken AND Talons is just petty and bitter!

It don't matter because he already pulled the poll down!!! I guess the early going was too much to handle. |

I didn't pull anything down. I don't know what happened, but it's back up. |

To my mind that smacks of people taking the whole thing far too seriously. BB is a fun & silly boardgame. Tournaments should be seen primarily as occassions to socialise with other BB players. The competition is there to provide some structure to the activity. |

I'm not going to vote, but if you want to have a poll thier should be more options, having only 3 (& the 3 that are there makes for a one sided opinion.)
If you want a propper poll done (one that does not take sides that are written right in the poll questions) then I'll do one.
I know Talons stepped on some toes today, but thats just the way he is (he's a great friend of mine) but can be at times very sarcastic (but so can I). He's telling it like he see's it. I bashed people in here all the time & got bashed, its all in good fun hacking , he's not looking to insult people on a personal levle (but if he see's something he feels is whacked, he states it, with Talons there is no "sugar-coating" a subject.)
As far as the Dino dice being fixed, trust me wolfhowl Talons is right when he says that alot of people have had that opinion..... I'm not saying they are, but I do not think they should be used for 2 reasons.
1) they are not the easiest dice to read & at times as Lagerbottom mentioned are scooped up right after they are rolled (not saying Dave is cheating but if I cant read em on a quick glance then, it bexcomes an issue)
2) just to stop the whole issue of suspecting the dice are crooked. Thats why I strongly suggest to all tourneys that d6's are supplied & that only GW or NAF block dice are used. (there probably aren't that many if any people that attend tournies that use crooked dice) but why not just eliminate the whole issue altogether & just use supplied tourney dice?

Well some people do take it seriously. and while I totally agree that the boardgame's main issue is to be fun, the suspicion that somebody is cheating (intentionally or not) against you can really spoil that fun.
I believe in the old adage that "You cannot please all of the people all of the time", but to my mind it is the job of the Tournament Organizer to ensure that as many people as possible are enjoying themselves. For those people who attend my tourney and are unhappy when they feel that crooked dice are being used, it is a simple solution of using standard dice. |

At a tournement in London, the TO gave dice and lamanated dug out to each coach. I think its a good idea and stops all this stupid behavior. Plus its free dice and a very small cost to the organaiser |

and I thought you have by now realized how much work organizing a tournament can be! Why give the organizer more tasks to care about and instantly request ALL should do it?
Just some ideas how to help out yourself:
a) share dice! If both coaches use the same dice, at least both have the same advantage (if there is any)
b) borough some dice from you neighbor coaches (if available; if not beat them up as well to reduce competition!)
c) get yourself some new dice if you happen to play at a games day or convention
d) bring a load of dice with you next time and let your opponent choose some of them to share throughout the game
and finally: use a SHAKING CUP!
