I know this is probably early, but I was wondering (since I just registered for GenCon) what the tentative plans were for GenCon Bowl 2007.....

Is that something you have to sign up for (the streetbowl)?

I'm considering the trip to GenCon this year, but haven't wrestled through the full budget yet. What are the housing option costs like in Indy? When I used to go back in Milwaukee, the university dormitories worked out great and cheap.

Cheers,
Mo

I might try camping. I hear there's a campground not too far out of Indy - and considerably cheaper than hotels...

Hotels downtown are filling up fast or have already filled up. If you are bringing a car you can probably find rooms 20mins away or so for a fair price. The campgrounds are another option though I don't know anything about them.

I booked my hotel room (double occupancy) for around $210 / night. That's 1/4 mile from the Con Center. A few years ago, we were able to get rooms 15 minutes away for roughly $140 / night.

Impact! will be hosting the GenCon Bowl this year ... and yes it will be Friday and Saturday (need to get my event sheet in). And Bryan/Xtreme has run the Street Bowl tournament. My understanding is that one of the fathers of Street Bowl is planning on playing this year (Norse).

As for lodging ... if you don't mind a 20 minute drive. There are Red Roof Inns right next to where I live for $60 a night. I drive in to GenCon every day and its no sweat. Parking will run you ... I think its $18 a day??? But honestly ... if you are able to drive in ... you can get some decent priced hotels in Fishers or Greenwood.

Just hit enough points and booked the flight! I'll have to miss the Street Bowl tourney though so I can help out at the Impact booth on Thursday.

Cheers,
Mo

I think if spelling was a requirement...that might be an "obtacle" too. Smile

Sorry Spazz...probably just a typo...but as a teacher there should at least be some attention to detail. Check your work next time young man.

Otay! Very Happy

Y'know, it's funny Rob, you've been pretty absent from the forum lately, and you make an appearance only to bust my chops. Nice!

I've registered the GenCon Bowl 2007 with GenCon as an event now ... so that should be good to go. Impact! is sponsering the tournament this year. ... and a big thank you to BB_Babe for helping us run the booth on Thursday.
