Hi All,
I've been looking thought the team states on this website and was surprised to see Humans with around a 0.45% win rate. I have always thought that humans were one of the better teams and would have thought there win rate would be closer too 0.53%. Am I wrong or is there something deeper to there win/lose rate? |

Mine are metals, good mini.
Average guys, so average play.
Make them bashy or dodgey. You can go anyway you like. Good starter team. I always tell new comers to start with them as they then appreciate the difference in the other teams from the average. |

Humans can be developed into a decent team. You've got some good bashiness in your blitzers. They get Strength access and can land a load on folks. You've got decent Agility with your catchers. Human passers start out well with pass and sure hands and can be developed into really good passers. But, there's no regular 4 strength players and no agility 4 players. So, they're bashy, but not in the way of orcs or undead. And they're agile, but not like elves. You have to develope them into your own play style. I have a human team going into the finals in our tournement this week. I use the blitzers to blow holes in the defense, lots of guard, tackle and mighty blow. Then use the catchers to score with. Gave them block and nerves of steel and side step. |

IMO one of their biggest strengths is that they're very forgiving. You can try developing your team in what seems like a fun way (to a newbie), then when you realize that your Strong Arm+Wrestle Blitzer isn't working.. dump him and buy a new one. Cheap across the board means you never take long to save for a replacement, and all the positionals start with the really important skills anyway.
Excellent first team. Good at all levels of play. |

I think that the best thing the Human Team is that it can play to the opposite of the other team. So if your playing Wood Elves or Skaven you can out hit them. If your playing Chaos or Dwarves you can out run them, etc...... |

What about if you are playing lizardmen? You can't out hit the saurus, or outrun the skinks. come ot think of it, the majority of the team cannot even outrun the saurus! Oh man..... you're screwed! |

You can out-pass them. The entire team is AG1 or Stunty, so they're not going to be out-passing you |

But out passing is not much good when you are chased down or put in out on your butt!
I'm not saying that humans cannot beat lizardmen, I am just saying that you cannot beat everyone by playing opposite their strength. |

Like many other teams, some match-ups are just bad. Rookie Norse vs. rookie Dark Elves is tough for the darkies. Dwarves vs. Amazon is tough on the Amazons. Me against Lizardmen is tough on me. |

Yep. There's always some team that's a bad match for another. But overall, humans are a very good team for a rookie coach to start with. |

I'm not saying that humans cannot beat lizardmen, I am just saying that you cannot beat everyone by playing opposite their strength.
The lizardmen weakness is that they have no starting skills besides dodge on the skinks. When starting out humies vs lizzies is quite easy: pin the saurus with your cheap and disposable linemen and hunt the skinks with blitzers. Sit back and watch the lizardmen coach burn through his rerolls quickly and then just wait for the inevitable turnovers to make your move.
Once those saurus start picking up some skills it's a whole different ballgame of course...
I think humans are an ok starting team. I think you'll have trouble winning games but you'll learn pretty quickly what style suits you best. If you want to get competitive asap then orcs are the better choice. |
