Well let's just say it got ugly.
Okay ... seriously .. fess up ... which one(s) of you was it that had issues understanding this sentence in Dauntless:
The strength of both players is calculated before any defensive or offensive assists are added but after all other modifiers.
Underlining mine.

They way rod and I understood the Order of Prcedence was that Dauntless was rolled before the block to see if the blocking player had psyched himself up enough. And then the horns were added once the block was initiated.
Quote: Horns (Mutation)
A player with horns may use them to butt an opponent. This adds 1 to
the player???s Strength when he makes a block.
So in our minds the block had not been initiated until after the Dauntless roll.
I guess we put to much logic into a game filled with Elves and Dwarves |

Eric.R. wrote: I guess we put to much logic into a game filled with Elves and Dwarves Its a game with rules ... using logic will 99% give you the wrong answer.
Dauntless says apply modifiers. Horns is a modifier. The word when is completely irrelevant in the Horns skill. He's making a block and Horns is a modifier. Modifiers per Dauntless are applied before the Dauntless roll.
Logic has nothing to do with games design. Otherwise you could not kill yourself on a GFI. You could not intercept before a pass is rolled. Treeman with Pass Block would not speed up ... etc. , etc., etc.
