If the DC are at oppisite ends of the field, they both can't attempt to use the skill.
So yeah, it's only if it drops adjacent to both of them (and in reality, only if they're on opposing sides, as if they're both on the same side, one just doesn't use it). |

Hmmm. That's not how I had interpreted the wording. This makes way more sense now. I found it kind of stupid that if two players from the same time had DC and could catch the ball, they couldn't. This makes way more sense. One player chooses not to use the skill, hence the other player can attempt the catch.
I have never, ever seen anybody take the Diving Catch skill, so it was never an issue. |

Skill use is optional. If you have 2 players on YOUR team with the skill, you pick which one uses it. Probably the guy who isn't interfered with or who has NOS. The DC rule doesn't mention that skill use is optional because this is in the rules elsewhere. No sense in repeating that phrase over and over.
A player can't use a skill if they're not entitled to. So having a guy halfway across the field with DC can't impede a guy who is right next to the ball, regardless of the team. Common sense here. The "attempting to use the skill" means that the player with the skill is right next to the square with the ball: one ball, two or more OPPOSING players with DC.
So if your player and an opposing team player both have DC, are both eligible to grab the same ball from an empty square, and both elect to use the skill, then neither gets to use it. |

Ok, i´m just asking because in reallife you´ll see it all the time in sports, thats two players from the same team are going after the ball and when they notice each other they hesitate and no one takes it.
Now, blood bowl isn´t real life but i wanted som clerification of the rule, thats all. A cup is comming up in our league and then theres allways some Q´s. If i could ask them before we started then it wouldnt become so bloody in our arguments of whats right or wrong, hehe
And yes, i´ll like the rules that are in "tryout". Now have DC become a skill i´ll want to take on some of my players.
Thx All for helping! |

Darkson is correct. The sentence is there to prevent the problem of a ball landing between opposing players with the skill. |
