Hey guys,

I was wandering if the tournaments (canadian open, Q'ermitts) where posted in toronto (like Games Workshop or other specialised shops ?) or in gaming associations ?

If you prepare a announce-sheet I can try to post it in those place (like, the tournament name / a couple of details about it / contact and maybe the link that eric made with all the ontarian / quebecois tournaments).

Did you post on TBB ? Fumbl ? I can post on FBB, I know that some quebecois are playing there.

Last thing, we should try to do a sort of clan with a clear clan tag for all the player that are going to be playing at BB on PC. Something like BBCA_spazz (bloodbowl canada) or NAFCA_peterflanders or whatever else (but not CAF_eric - canadian farters). There are always people looking for clans, and that might give some "visibility" to our lovely bloodbowl community !

[Edit: replace clan by guild or anithing else, it's just that online, the tag before someone's pseudo is called a "clan-tag" I think. It's not to be defending anything, showing off or something, it's just to point out that yes, there are some people playing bloodbowl on boards in canada, and everybody is welcome to join !]

Unfortunately we tend not to post in GW stores due to negative press and opinions from the Canadian Staff (which I many opinions, but I will leave that for another thread). So we usually disregard them as part of our advertising. Which could be part of our failing . . .

And, I am trying to keep on top of the list of the Canadian Tournies and Clubs as much as possible.

In terms of 'Clans', I am not a fan of Clans. Club, federation, association or even société (my favorite being the SAQ - Société des alcools du Québec). Clan, to me sounds, sounds to much like a coalition against something. And, as a BB'er I am against nothing) even losing when in the pursuit of fun.

PS - why you raging on my farts when Rod's arse is like cheese from Northern France Wink

Clan or guild its all the same really.

I think its a good idea.

I gotta try this cheese from Northern France (if it tastes like my farts, then it must be sweet!)

"MMMMMMM-mmmmmmmmmmmm"

Eric is just such an individual. He does not want to be held down by "belonging" to any organization. Rolling Eyes Wink

I like the idea - anything that can be done to increase awareness and attention to our BB family.

@Laurent - I will see what I can put together for some flyers for the Q'ermitt. I am a promotional whore! Anything I can do to raise awareness is good!

We should start to post our tourneys on TBB though. We used to, but we don't do it very much anymore. Mostly because it didn't attract much attention.

But I have noticed more activity from Canadians on TBB lately, mostly from Montreal. I think that it would be worthwhile for tournament organizers to post their tournaments on TBB as well as on NAF. If you don't have a TBB account or have issues accessing the site (I think some of you had problems), then I can help post stuff.

Actually I think I found the Qermitt last year on TBB.

Fumbbl is also a very good place to post tournaments i guess.

On the flyer, mentionning the fact that you have a crazy kick ass set of pitches could be a good idea Wink

So, you guys have 2 month to find a "clan-tag" that is cool and not too long (4 letters is fine). I'm ok with any suggestion and I don't care at all what will be the tag, I'll just use it ! As soon at it will be decided, everybody should email the people that he has seen in tornament to make them aware of it. (actually, does anyone has this kind of database ? are you contacting the tournament participants from the previous years systematically ? )

I am for my tournaments, I include everyone who has emailed me for information about our events in Ottawa too. But I don't have email addresses of everyone for all the other tournaments. Including yours Lizzie core!

I have all the addresses for anyone who ever registered at one of our tournaments in the last 2~3 years. Never erased the previous years databases so I got quite the list.

sweet.

Maybe we can exchange info and produce a mailing list for National stuff like this online clan/guild/gang/league of extraordinary gentlemen.
Don't want to bombard everyone with info about each tournament though.

Actually, I have been thinking about this. I think we could mail the tournament calendar to people when they renew their registration. And we could give the torunament calendar to people at tournaments.
That way the folks who don't turn up to events still get to hear about them.

I can do this soon, once I finish the job hunt......

I think that having an email list is a great idea. I'd be surprised if people would not want to be emailed BB related stuff. I can't see this as being a "spam" issue.

Maybe we just add people to the list if the agree to be on the list? That way people who don't want to receive emails will not.

Wondering if there is some sort of on-line email distribution list that we can use. That way people can be taken on and off the list, and we would have a master list to use to send emails, hence we won't forget people on the list.
