Underworld Cup 2012 "The Return to the Pit"
October 6th-7th, 2012
30780 N. Greenbriar rd, Franklin, MI 48025
5 game, 2 day tournament
This event will be resurrection style

Cost
NON-NAF members - 45$(includes NAF membership)
NAF members - 35$
This will include Breakfast/lunch/Dinner on Saturday, Breakfast/lunch on Sunday, beverages/beer all weekend and a place to stay if you want to crash at Solomon's or Ryan's house(just bring blankets/pillow/blowup bed)

Schedule:

Saturday the 6th
9:00 - 9:30 Registration
9:30 - 10:00 Draft
10:00 - 12:15 Game 1
12:15 - 13:00 Lunch
13:00 - 15:15 Game 2
15:30 - 17:45 Game 3
18:00 - till whenever with Grilling/Drinking/Gaming

Sunday the 7th
09:00 - 11:15 Game 4
11:15 - 12:15 Lunch
12:15 - 14:30 Game 5
15:00 - 15:30 Awards

First round will be random - after first round it will be Swiss pairings.

Things to bring
Copy of Competition Rules(CRP)/LRB6
Field/Dugouts/Templates
3 Copies of team roster with 100k progression each round added
Dice(decide before game on set to use for the entire game for both coaches)

Points
Win -- 60 pts
Tie -- 25 pts
Loss -- 10 pts
No overtimes will be played
Placing is decided by total points

Casualty Rules
Only casualties caused by blocks/crowd/fouling will count. Failed dodge/gfi/landing do not count.

Race Rules changes:
All stunty teams(Ogres, gobbos, flings, lizzies minus saurus and underworld minus skaven) will receive an extra 100k to build their team. All three expansion teams are allowed.

Team Builds
1 mil team build (players, rerolls, fanfactor, all inducements allowed) Let me know ahead of time if you plan on using cards so I can have them available. Your card will change after each round that it is used.

After team is made:
Before round 1: Add 100k to the team
Before round 2: Add 100k
Before round 3: Add 100k
Before round 4: Add 100k
Before round 5: Add 100k

This money can be anything that could normally be bought(players/rerolls/inducements/coaches/ff/cheerleaders/apo) and upgrades may be purchased for players as well. No player may recieve more than one upgrade per round(you could have 5 on one player by round 5, but not on round 1). Money may be "banked" from round to round. No player may recieve more than two of the same stat upgrade. Rerolls bought after initial team build do not cost double. Each player will add this 100k to their roster for each round prior to round one. Please note on your roster the round skills are added. The excel spreadsheet that allow additions of skills 1-5 is preferable.

Note: You may bank the money from one round to the next. So, you could save all your money from the first round and use the 100k from the next round to buy a 200k star that will remain on the roster for the rest of the tourney. You will just be handicapped on the first round and there will be no inducements added if there is a Team Rating differential due to banking money. You may not bank any money from the original 1mil roster construction. You must start with a rulebook legal roster including 11 players. This could include star players.

+MV, +AV 30k
+AG 40k
+ST 50k

Other Stuff:
Apo will work normally as per the standard ruleset other than it may also be used on crowd casualties.

Special Effects:
Detroit Industrial Sludge: Before each game, you will roll up a random player on your opponents roster that will then be given a random mutation. Chaos Pact, Chaos, Nurgle, Underworld team will do this twice. If the random player already has the random mutation, then roll a new random mutation(example: Snow Troll can't have a second claw, slann can't have long legs twice) These mutations will be removed after each game and rerolled with your opponent before the next game. After selecting the random player, then roll 2d6 on this table:

2 Very Long Legs
3 Disturbing Presence
4 Two heads
5 Tentacles
6 Extra Arms
7 Claw
8 Big Hand
9 Horns
10 Prehensile Tale
11 Foul Appearance
12 Regeneration

Illegal Procedure
In the spirit of good fun, NO illegal procedures will be called.

Tie Breakers (if needed)
Ties broken in the following order, 1) strength of schedule, 2) Head to Head record, 3) Net TDs plus Net CAS, 4) Total TDs plus Total CAS,

Awards to be given out:
1st / 2nd / 3rd place
Most Cas
Most TDs
Best Defense
Wooden Spoon

The legacy trophy is discontinued. This will be replaced by an Underworld Cup board that will be given to the winner. The mugs for all other prizes will continue to be given out.


This Underworld Cup will feature a new sub-competition which will be a "Coach Draft"
Team #1 will be "Team Main Guy and the Black Label Society"

Team #2 will be "Team Other Guy and the 40 Miners"

After registration and before round one Xtreme and JP will act as team captains and "Draft" their teams. I will roll off to see who gets first round pic of one coach to join their team. This will continue until all coaches are drafted to a team.

If JP and Xtreme do not make it(they are both coming as of now), I will have backup head coaches to replace them.

JP and Xtreme will be paired off round 4 to replicate the infamous match of the Black Label Society vs the 40 miners at Orctoberfest I in 2010.

Orctoberfest has been replaced by the Underworld Cup. The oldest bloodbowl tourney in North America. Rules are updated above.

Not at this point. If the turnout gets big enough, we'll add it. Right now, stunties just get an extra 100k to build thier roster.

If you make it out, you'll have a free place too crash. My house has two hot water tanks so you might even get a warm shower:)

If anyone has some graphics ideas for the Underworld cup championship board, please send em my way. I'm looking for something with a Dungeon/Motor/shooting theme for the underworld/detroit theme. I want to get the boards ordered soon.

Hey Sol.. not sure where you are getting the boards done, but Alex at FF-Fields does a fantastic job with custom logos for a minor additional fee.

Yeah, Alex is totally amazing at it. He can do it all for you. If you want boards done by him, just get him to do the logos as well. He is even working on a BB7's board for me now.

I may try and make this one. There is enough of a gap between this and Deathbowl that the wife won't be totally pissed I am gone all weekend. Can I make a request if I do, that you bump up the start time on day 2 so we can finish earlier. That way I could make it back to Ottawa on Sunday (9 hours is long, but doable).

Moving it back an hour should be fine. I'll get it updated when I get to a computer. It's a pain on my phone.

Times changed. I added a link on the bottom for the spreadsheet I would like people to use to make roster checking easier due to the progressive format. If you can't use that, it may be easiest to bring 5 separate rosters. One for each round.
