Hi! I'm thinking of playing Amazons in our next Season. I was thinking of starting with this Roster:
4 Blitzers
2 Catchers
1 Thrower
4 Linewoman
3 ReRolls
1 Apothecary
Total: 970.000 GP
After the first game I should have enough money to buy the 12th player.
What do you think of this lineup? Or shall I do something different?
An which skills shall I take during the league? I thougt of:
Blitzers: Guard, SideStep, Mighty Blow
Cathers: Block, ?
Thrower: SureHands, Accurate
Better ideas?
Thanks for your hlep! |

amazones are not a "pass" team even if they have thrower and catcher.
when i start a TV100 team, i take only one catcher. just to catch a pass from players with 5xp or 15xp... |

I would drop the 2 catchers and 1 thrower to take 4 linewomen instead, taking 12 players at the start.
I would take guard / tackle on the blitzers and a mixture of block / wrestle on the linewomen. |

I took that exact same roster with the thrower and catchers and did well. We do random skill, but it worked out well.
Just play how you want. I like passing, so that's what I did. |

I would 100% agree with this. If it works and you have fun great, if not, you might want to try a different way next time. |

Been playing around with rosters and after Chaos Cup and learning about Blodge and Stand Firm, it is the first skill to take on those Blitzers(Besides Guard)!
Folks just don't know how to handle that and end up wasting a few rounds trying to blast 'em instead of Dodging away from 'em.
AWESOME build and got me 1st in Canada(small sample size, though it was) with 'em @Spike! |

Play Necro and you'll start with it
Amazons are a really good team, and very competitive in tournaments. Their weaknesses are their relative low movement, and their low armor, which tends to punish them later in a league setting. Your lineup seems solid, however many people shy away from the catchers. If you can make them work, then work em.
And you cannot take side-step on the blitzers on normal skill rolls, but as stated above Stand Firm is absolutely a great skill especially on a blodger. |
