If a Gutter Runner with Dauntless and Horns blitzes a ST3 opponent (with no other players around), is it a one-die or two-die block?

In other words - do you apply (Dauntless first, then Horns) or (Horns first, then Dauntless)?

Thank you in advance.

Horns is first, then Dauntless.

It depends what version of the rules you are using. Under the current rules it is as Dwarfrunner said, so only a 1DB.

If you are using anything pre LRB5 / LRB6 / CRP then dauntless is applied first and then you add horns making it 2DB.

Ahh - that explains my confusion. So this combination went from being incredibly awesome to a complete waste of a skill.

Not really it just depends on how you look at it. I mean use a Gutter runner ST2 vs the Dwarf SW. ST7. The old way for Dauntless to work you would need a 5+ then horns. Now with horns added you only need a 4+. That goes from a 33.3 % chance to a 50 % chance. I think that is an improvement. Now true that 33.3 % chance is for a 2D block with horns but how hard is it to get an extra creature in there for a 2D block. That is against a ST7 creature it gets even better with a ST6 creature.

not really, who uses a st2 player to go after st5+ guys even with dauntless...

the classic gutter runner build was to put both skills on them so they could hunt ball carriers deep in the opposing half and get a 2 dice blitz without needing any assists

the change means you can't do that and as a result I don't think anyone uses that combo and will take a different more useful skill

it is an instance that will happen so rarely other skills are more beneficial

I've certainly never seen anyone take it as a combo since, though perhaps your experiences differ ;]
