Underworld Cup '13 "The thing under the pitch"
October 19th-20th, 2013
30780 N. Greenbriar rd, Franklin, MI 48025
5 game, 2 day tournament
This event will be resurrection style

Cost
NON-NAF members - 45$(includes NAF membership)
NAF members - 35$
This will include Breakfast/lunch/Dinner on Saturday, Breakfast/lunch on Sunday, beverages/beer all weekend and a place to stay if you want to crash at Solomon's or Ryan's house(just bring blankets/pillow/blowup bed)

Schedule:

Saturday the 19th
9:00 - 9:30 Registration
9:30 - 10:00 Draft
10:00 - 12:15 Game 1
12:15 - 13:00 Lunch
13:00 - 15:15 Game 2
15:30 - 17:45 Game 3
18:00 - till whenever with Grilling/Drinking/Gaming

Sunday the 20th
09:00 - 11:15 Game 4
11:15 - 12:15 Lunch
12:15 - 14:30 Game 5
15:00 - 15:30 Awards

First round will be random - after first round it will be Swiss pairings.

Things to bring
Copy of Competition Rules(CRP)/LRB6
Field/Dugouts/Templates
3 Copies of team roster with skills from each round added
Dice(decide before game on set to use for the entire game for both coaches)

Points
Win -- 60 pts
Tie -- 25 pts
Loss -- 10 pts
No overtimes will be played
Placing is decided by total points

Casualty Rules
Only casualties caused by blocks/crowd/fouling will count. Failed dodge/gfi/landing do not count.

Race Rules changes:
All stunty teams(Ogres, gobbos, flings, lizzies minus saurus and underworld minus skaven) will receive an extra 100k to build their team. All three expansion teams are allowed.

Team Builds
1.1 mil team build (players, rerolls, fanfactor, all inducements allowed) Let me know ahead of time if you plan on using cards so I can have them available. Your card will change after each round that it is used.

After team is made:
Before round 1: Add 50k to the team
Before round 2: Add 120k
Before round 3: Add 120k
Before round 4: Add 120k
Before round 5: Add 120k

This money can be anything that could normally be bought(players/rerolls/inducements/coaches/ff/cheerleaders/apo) and upgrades may be purchased for players as well. No player may recieve more than one upgrade per round(you could have 5 on one player by round 5, but not on round 1). Money may be "banked" from round to round. No player may recieve more than two of the same stat upgrade. Rerolls bought after initial team build do not cost double. Each coach will add the 50/120k to their roster for each round prior to round one. Please note on your roster the round skills are added. The excel spreadsheet that allow additions of skills 1-5 is preferable.

Note: You may bank the money from one round to the next. So, you could save all your money from the first round and use the 120k from the next round to buy a 170k star that will remain on the roster for the rest of the tourney. You will just be handicapped on the first round and there will be no inducements added if there is a Team Rating differential due to banking money. You may not bank any money from the original 1.1mil roster construction. You must start with a rulebook legal roster including 11 players. This could include star players.

Other Stuff:
Apo will work normally as per the standard ruleset other than it may also be used on crowd casualties.

Special Effects:

"Return of Beastmode"

Last year, Da 40 Miners succesfully defeated The Black Label Society", but then lost to them in the team challenge. Beastmode took this espicially hard since he worked so hard for that victory to still loose to their hated adversary. This drove Beastmode to the underground where he bagan to experiment with warpstone. He has now grown larger, and a little crazier, from his warpstone exposure. During this years matches, he will be entering the pitch on the kickoff with rolls of 2 and 12.

On a roll of 2
Beastmode just finished off a crack pipe full of warpstone. Now he is enraged and bursts from under the pitch and will run over anyone in his way. Roll a d6. On 1-3 he enters the defense side, on 4-6 he enters the offense side. His entry point is determined by a kickoff roll(d8 for direction and d6 for distance) from the center square(sweet spot). He will then charge in a random direction for d6 squares on each turn(both defense and offense). If any player is unlucky enough to be in his way, he is hit with STR 6. There are no defensive or offensive assists. Beastmode does not have to dodge. He will hit both standing and prone players. Prone players simply roll a armor break and then injury if broken. If beastmode leaves the pitch, he does not return. If he is still on the pitch at the end of each turn, the roll a d8 and d6 for his charge.

On a roll of 12
Beastmode just smoked a Warpstone Blunt. He is enraged, but his legs are numb and he can't run. He bursts though the center of the pitch on the line of scrimage. Roll d6, on 1-3 he appears on the defensive side center square on LOS. On a 4-6 he appears on the offensive center square on LOS. Any player/players standing in is tackle zone or in the square that he entered the field will be tossed d6 spaces in a random direction. They will land or hit another player using the same rules as if thrown with the throw team mate and the right stuff skills. He will remain in the square for the rest of the drive. If any player enters his tackle zone, or is pushed into it, will will be imeadeately thrown d6 in a random direction. If the player lands and was in the middle of movement, he may then complete his movement. This cannot cause a turnover unless the thrown player had the ball and does not land on his feet.

Detroit Industrial Sludge:
Before each game, you will roll up a random player on your opponents roster that will then be given a random mutation. Chaos Pact, Chaos, Nurgle, Underworld team will do this twice. If the random player already has the random mutation, then roll a new random mutation(example: Snow Troll can't have a second claw, slann can't have long legs twice) These mutations will be removed after each game and rerolled with your opponent before the next game. After selecting the random player, then roll 2d6 on this table:

8 Big Hand
9 Horns
10 Prehensile Tale
11 Foul Appearance
12 Regeneration

Illegal Procedure
In the spirit of good fun, NO illegal procedures will be called.

Ties broken in the following order, 1) strength of schedule, 2) Head to Head record, 3) Net TDs plus Net CAS, 4) Total TDs plus Total CAS,

Wooden Spoon

An FFfields Underworld Cup board that will be given to the winner. The mugs for all other prizes will continue to be given out. If we have enough players(probably around 22 or 23) then a second board will be given away as either a prize or a raffle.


This Underworld Cup will feature a sub-competition which will be a "Coach Draft"

Team #1 will be "Team Da 40 Miners"

Team #2 will be "Team Manderbeards Hoes"

After registration and before round one Xtreme and Delevus will act as team captains and "Draft" their teams. I will roll off to see who gets first round pic of one coach to join their team. This will continue until all coaches are drafted to a team.

If Delevus and/or Xtreme do not make it(they are both coming as of now), I will have backup head coaches to replace them.

Delevus and Xtreme will be paired off randomly once during rounds 1-4 in a grudge match. For those of you who do not know the history, the Hoes have defeated Da 40 Miners in each previous matchup. This has caused the Hoes to be number one in the book of grudges.
