The starting team is:

1 Thrower
1 Blitzer
1 Black Orc
9 Line Orcs
FF 8
4 re-rolls

The eventually plan is 12 Lineorcs and 1 extra Blitzer.

Challenging huh!!!

Best 1st skills????

If you want to go down the route of max RR & FF I'd have taken 4 gobbos and a troll instead.

Basically line orcs are rarely as good as the positional players (slower than Blitzers, weaker than BOBs) so you end up with no real oomph.

Just one question: why the line-orcs?

That's my question, too. Certainly, it's a challenge. But so is the Halfling team.

I wouldn't worry about skill rolls. Not only won't you get many, but if you're really not playing to win, it shouldn't matter too much.

This team is all about balance for our league:

The league has been running for about 10 years, the top team has a team rating of 369. With a further 19 teams all of differing ratings.
To keep the balance and to interest new coaches we came up with three things.

1.) Special rules for some tournaments, eg no TR higher than 150 unless Gobbo's or Halflings or unless you only have 1 team, the 1 team coaches are less experienced and so more tactically naive.

2.) The more experienced coaches often start new teams so that new members have half a chance.

3.) We are currently working on a negative winnings idea, including Treasury will not exceed 300,000, any excess will be paied to share holders!!!

My last team that I used in our last tournament was the Goblins and we still managed 3 wins to finish 5th out of 8, I just want a new challenge with a team who would not be beating up quite so much.

Sounds to me like you could try something REAL challenging without, say, giving up on the vast majority of your position players. I suggest a Chaos Dwarf team without Bull Centaurs OR a Khemri team without Mummies. Or maybe a Necromantic team with only "real" deadies: Zombies, Wights, and Flesh Golems only! All of these would be challenging, but they'd have some variety among the player positions.

Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestions but,

I already play Chaos Dwarfs already and until recently we could not have Bull Centaurs anyway, apart Hthark.

Necro idea sounds cool but our league has two new Necro teams starting so I wabt something a bit different for time being!!

And Khemri without Mummies are you mad!!!!!! LOL

I might suggest that to a new league member though just for the laugh.

There was a coach in our league that fielded a 16 skeleton team. We house ruled the 0-12 to 0-16 for him. He had cool converted models for them and he was all about the fun of failure, so he enjoyed the team and we all enjoyed playing against him. Very Happy
