Great Plains Grand Prix Events
EVENTS TBD
The Great Plains Grand Prix Tournament Series is intended to promote greater participation in Blood Bowl tournaments across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba by creating an additional contest based on scoring of those events. In other words, we're using shiny prizes to entice coaches to travel to more tournaments than they otherwise might.
The GPGP is sanctioned and sponsored by the NAF. Any disputes or clarifications will be handled by the NAF Tournament Series Director

Tournament Series type: Open
2024 Rules
-Any tournament taking place in the following provinces may choose to be included in the GPGP
-The GPGP will run from January 1st to December 31st.
-Tournament Organizers should apply to be a part of the GPGP at the same time that they apply for NAF sanction. Some exceptions may apply as we continue to make organizers aware of the series' existence. Tournaments may apply to be part of the GPGP, but require a minimum of 10 coaches to properly qualify for the GPGP.
-Tournament results (a list of final placement) must be provided to the TSO within 14 days of the tournament's conclusion. Results that are not submitted within that window may be waived. Please include: Coach Name, NAF id, Race, Place, Award (If any).
--------------------------------
Standard Scoring:
A standard tournament is defined as a 1 day 3 game tournament of Blood Bowl 2020. Variants will be weighted differently and are detailed below.
Each coach’s score will be determined as the maximum point total from their best 5 tournaments plus their Organizer bonus points. Each coach must play a minimum of 2 tournaments to be qualify.
Participants will receive the following points for each tournament they attend.
Points (Top 10)
Coaches earn points based on where they finish (10 to 1 points for top 10 placements).
10 pts - First place
9 pts - Second place
1 pt - Tenth place
Bonus Points:
Number of attendees
Bonus points are given per every 10 attendees, as outlined below.
0-10 attendees: no bonuses
11-20 attendees: [1-10] = +1
21-30 attendees: [1-10] = +2, [11-20] = +1
31-40 attendees: [1-10] = +3, [11-20] = +2, [21-30] = +1
41-50 attendees: [1-10] = +4, [11-20] = +3, [21-30] = +2, [31-40] = +1
Etc…
Length of Tournament
1 day tournament: no bonuses
2 day tournament: +1
Premiere Events
Every year, four Premier events will be designated using the following criteria.
The event must be a staple of the tournament series (running for multiple years)
Each of the four events should be geographically apart, representing different regions
The Premier events will alternate from year-to-year (some may remain year-to-year)
All participants receive a bonus +3 points
Organizers are welcome to contact the tournament series organizer around November to request consideration for Premier status for their tournament for the following season
Awards
The following individual awards will grant +1 bonus point per event:
Best Offence; Best Defence; Most Casualties; Stunty Champion; Sporting Conduct; and Best Painted
Travel
Playing in multiple cities will grant additional points:
2 cities: +1
Organizer Points
GPGP relies on the efforts and dedication of tournament organizers to succeed. To reflect this, organizers will be given bonus GPGP points in addition to their top 5. Organizers are eligible for up to 2 bonus GPGP points per event. To qualify the Tournament Organizer must not play in the event. Points are outlined as follows.
10-29 total tournament attendees (1 point)
30+ total tournament attendees (2 points)
Note that tournament attendees are additive between tournaments and can double count participants. For example, if an organizer runs 2 tournaments with 9 coaches, this is considered equivalent to hosting a single event with 18 coaches (even if the 9 coaches are the same).
Variant Tournaments Scoring:
A variant tournaments is defined as any type of tournament that does not use Blood Bowl 2020 rules.
Participants will receive +1 point for each tournament they attend. No other points will be awarded unless the variant qualifies for the main tournament series.
To Qualify for the main series, a variant tournament must meet one of the following criteria:
Sevens, Gutterball: Must be a minimum of 6 games
Dungeon bowl, Street Bowl, Death Ball: Must be a minimum of 3 games
If the Variant qualifies for the main series, the participants will not receive the +1 point, and instead will use the same scoring criteria as listed previously.
Awards
The NAF will be providing prizes for the individuals that place 1st – 3rd in the main rankings and the top stunty
In the event of a tie, the following tie breakers will be used
Most tournaments attended
Highest single tournament points
2nd highest singke tournament points |
