More pics to come soon, but here's a quick look at my first troll:
(image is 500k hence a link)

Although the painting looks less impressive in the pic than in real life IMO I still think it's one of the best, if not the best, lpaint jobs I've done. Particularly pleased with the "belly flesh" |

Awesome paint job, my friend, but that has got to be the silliest looking troll I've seen . . . |

Looks Great! All he needs now is a beard and a bag of goodies. Looking forward to seeing more of these christmax minis of yours.

I always thought Trolls should be scary....but he's just cute (not a good attribute for a BB player....unless you're Zara).
I like it...great job
Can't wait what kind of an idea you have for Easter |

Awesome! I suggest you model some reindeer horns on the next Troll. Make the artificial aspect obvious |

A obviously fake beard on the troll would be awesome too, but I realise that might be hard to do... |

I think that the only problem with this X'mas team is that you can only use them once per year. |

What do you use to make the Fur around the Hat and the little white Tuff on the back of it???
And what procedures did you use to texture it???
If you need you can PM me the method, but I think it would go great with this thread...
The MINI IS AWESOME!!
Great job Bro!!! |

I sculpted the hat & fur out of green stuff and textured it by using the "pointy" end of the sculpting tool. I had to do LOADS of holes, otherwise it looks like crap - you need holes on top of holes to make it work.
I also extended the almost non-existant pelt between his legs - it was originally about 3mm long and I needed more red areas to create a bigger contrast. I chopped the bone in his right hand off, resculpted some fingers then VERY carefully bent it up to bring it clearly off the ground.
Still needs some work, I need to re-drybrush the hat fur and give it a few more coats of varnish. |
