| The tournament is a "special" in that it is being deliberately held on the weekend between the AusBowl Team Champs (Christchurch, NZ, 27/28 August) and the Greenstone Cup (Auckland, NZ, 10/11 September). A good few visiting Australian coaches are playing in all 3 tournaments, and taking a ski-ing holiday in Queenstown inbetween. Hence the location. I believe this is the first tournament held in Queenstown, which is the premier resort town of New Zealand - famous for ski-ing, hiking, fly fishing, bungy jumping, jet boating, partying, and now - Blood Bowl. |
