Some of the most famous and the most overlooked Star Players of Blood Bowl have come together to host a 1-day tournament to determine the best of them all!
ROSTER CREATION:
- 1,000,000 gp to start.
- Minimum 11 players, max of 15 players. The 16th player on the roster will be an assigned Star Player from the Tournament Organizer, as per the Super Stars! rule below.
- No Star Players. Star Players will randomly join teams as per the Super Stars! rule below.
- May purchase: team rerolls, assistant coaches, cheerleaders, fan factor. Cheerleaders and Assistant Coaches must have an appropriate model. May not purchase Apothecaries/Igors.
- Teams do not have to be painted; however, teams that are fully painted (i.e., every model has at least 3 colours and a painted base) will receive a free +1FF as the crowd loves a good-looking team! (Tournament Organizer will review and confirm this bonus on the day.)
INDUCEMENTS
- No inducements are permitted at all, except for Goblins (who may purchase Bribes at 50K each) and Halfling Teams (who can purchase a Master Chef at 100K).
- To be clear: don’t spent $ on inducements during Roster Build. Tournament Organizer will review and confirm this bonus on the day.)
SKILLS
- Each coach will get 3 skill rings to assign to players before a match. (Tournament Organizer will provide coloured rubber bands if coaches don’t have their own skill rings.) The skill rings are:
Either Block OR Wrestle
Either Dodge OR Tackle
Either Guard OR Leader
- The skill can change for each match as can the player it is assigned to.
- You can know your opponent before making your choice.
- You will know which Star Player is available to you before making your choice. You may not assign any skill rings to a Star Player.
- You cannot know your opponent's skill choices before making your choice (i.e., you could decide to take Tackle once you find out your opponent is Amazons, you cannot wait to find out if they are taking Dodge as a skill ring before selecting Tackle).
SUPER STARS!
Every match, the Tournament Organizer will, for each pitch, randomly roll up a Star Player, and each Coach playing on that pitch may use that Star Player for this match only, regardless of whether that Star Player is normally available to hire for the Coach’s team.

CRP versions of these Star Players will be used, except for Lewdgrip Whiparm, who will have Dodge in addition to his skills and stats as listed in the CRP and is valued at an additional 10K.
PRESEASON FOR HOBBLE SEASON 11:
Teams participating in this tournament may be taken into Season 11 of the Hogtown Blood Bowl League (HoBBLe), which will be a shortened league starting immediately. Rules for the Hobble will be available shortly.
During the Super Star Smackdown, coaches should keep track of all SPPs earned by by players. At the conclusion of the tournament, players will skill-up and will roll for Advancements as normal. Three MVP rolls will be made as well, using the BB2016 method (i.e., nominate 3 players, and roll a D3 to award the MVP). Teams will earn winnings as well, rolling 3d6 and adding the appropriate bonuses for FAME and winning matches.
OTHER GENERAL RULES:
- This is a Resurrection style tournament. Consider any injury to be Badly Hurt (i.e., no free zombies/rotters).
- Tourney will consist of 3 games. Coaches will be randomly matched for Game 1, and Swiss-style matches for games 2 & 3.
- Coaches will be awarded 3 pts for a Win, 1 point for a Tie, 0 points for a Loss.
- Tiebreakers for the final rankings will be: Most Touchdowns For, Fewest Touchdowns Against, Highest Casualties For, Fewest Casualties against, most votes for Best Sportsman.
- The Illegal Procedure rule will not be used.
- Up to 2 hrs per round will be allotted to games. 15 min warnings will be provided in each round.
