Coal Bowl II, Schuylkill County's second annual Blood Bowl tournament, will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020 (yes, there is actually a February 29 this year!). Doors will open at 9 am, with the first round of games beginning at 10 am.
Registration: Fee is $15 on or before February 15, or $20 afterwards. Please submit your payment to https://paypal.me/pools/c/8luADTbuK6. Also please email your roster to the tournament organizer at mwayman74@gmail.com.
NAF sanctioning is pending.
Rules: We will be using the standard NAF CRP (Competition Rules Pack), with the exceptions listed in this document. Tournament rules available here: https://www.thenaf.net/tournaments/nafdocs/
Full CRP game rules may be found here: https://www.thenaf.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/CRP1.pdf
Timing: We will not be using timers at the beginning of any match, but we will keep the tournament on schedule. If play in any match seems particularly slow, the tournament organizer may opt to use timers with 4 minutes allowed per player per turn.
Illegal Procedure: This is a friendly tournament, so no Illegal Procedure rules (failing to move your turn marker) will be used. Politely remind your opponent to move his/her turn marker.
Player Numbering: All models must be numbered, and numbers must correspond to the number listed on the roster.
Casualties: Casualties caused during a match will not carry forward to the next match. All rosters reset at the beginning of each match.
Team Creation: All 26 NAF-sanctioned teams are allowed, including Bretonnians, Daemons of Khorne, and Slann. Giants will not be allowed at this tournament. Players have 1.2 million gps available to purchase players and inducements. Rosters must include at least 11 players from the list of available players for that team.
We recommend that you use Little Army Designer (http://www.littlearmydesigner.com/bb/ruleset/5837594317291520/53027#2). Click "Choose Your Team," and select the "NAF" radio button. Once you have selected your team, you may click on the red "Special Rules" button to modify your budget and skills for team creation. You may email this list to the tournament organizer.
Star Players: Star Players may be purchased, provided the 11-player minimum has already been met. Any Star Players may be purchased for stunty teams without negating their qualification as stunty.
Inducements: No Special Play cards will be used. CRP Wizards in the document linked above ARE allowed.
Apothecaries and Igors: Per the latest NAF rules, Apothecaries and Igors will not receive an automatic use per match. Rolls must be made as per standard Blood Bowl rules. See item 9 b here: https://www.thenaf.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/NAF_Tournament_Approval_Document-2020.pdf
Skills: Each team will be granted skills according to the tiers listed below. No skill may be given to more than 2 players, and no player may be given more than 1 skill. No stat increases are allowed. All skills are allowed, including the CRP version of Piling On and the "Stakes" rule mentioned in the NAF document linked above. As per NAF guidelines, the new "disposable" skill will have no impact on roster creation for Ogre teams.
In honor of Leap Day, every team may select one player to receive the Leap skill for free, provided that player is eligible for the skill, either as a normal or doubles skill.
Tier 1 (6 skills, no doubles): Amazon, Chaos Dwarf, Dwarf, Dark Elf, Elf (All variations), Lizardmen, Norse, Orc, Skaven, Shambling Undead
Tier 2 (8 skills, up to 2 may be "doubles"): Bretonnian, Chaos, Chaos Renegades (formerly Chaos Pact), Human, Khemri, Daemons of Khorne, Necromantic, Nurgle, Slann, Underworld Denizens, Vampire
Tier 3 (10 skills, up to 4 may be "doubles"): Goblin, Halfling, Ogre, Stunty Lizardmen (no Saurus), Stunty Underworld Denizens (no Skaven)
Scoring: Teams will be awarded points based on the following scale:
15 points per victory
5 points per tie
3 points for every positive net touchdown (your touchdowns minus opponents' touchdowns)
2 points for every positive net casualty (your casualties minus opponents' casualties)
Tiebreakers will be based first on opponents' scores (strength of schedule), then on total touchdowns, and finally on total casualties inflicted.
Trophies: Awards will be granted for tournament Champion, Most Touchdowns, Most Brutal (most casualties), Best Stunty Team (any team falling--maybe literally--in Tier 3), and Best Painted Team. There may be a special award for the last place team as well.
Any ties for most touchdowns will be broken by total net touchdowns first, then by casualties suffered (a team that has the same total and net touchdowns as another, but has suffered more casualties, would win).
Ties for most brutal will be broken first by net casualties, then by fewest touchdowns scored against.
Prizes: Prize support will be based on attendance and any prizes we are able to obtain for the tournament. Registration fees will go towards paying for trophies and prizes.
Weather: Roll normally on the weather table at the beginning of the match. |
