Information
Welcome to the New Year’s Bash!

Date: Saturday, January 8th, 2022

Location: Barber Engineering, 25 McClellan Rd, Nassau, New York

Information: Welcome to the first (hopefully annual) New Year’s Bash! This tournament will consist of three rounds, using the common method of Swiss Pairing. We will do our best to avoid people that traveled together playing each other, but that only goes as far as the first round. After that, the matches will be based on the number of points a coach has. We will also avoid repeat matches as in, we will avoid people playing each other twice. Tournament scoring and tie-breakers will be detailed later in this document. This will be a Resurrection style tournament.

Times:
Check in and registration: 9:00-10:00
Round 1: 10:00-12:30
Lunch: 12:30-1:30
Round 2: 1:30-4:00
Round 3: 4:15-6:45

Team-Building:
All normally-included teams will be allowed, including
-Any team from the 2020 rulebook.
- Any team from the Teams of Legend PDF
- The newly-released Khorne team
-The NAF Daemons of Khorne and Slann rosters

The Builds:

Tier one teams will have 1.15 million gold crowns to build their teams, with a skill allotment of 8 skills (2 of these may be secondary skills).

Tier two teams will have 1.2 million gold crowns to build their teams, with a skill allotment of 10 skills (3 of these may be secondary).

Tier three teams will have 1.25 million gold crowns to build their teams, with a skill allotment of 12 skills (3 of these may be secondary skills).

Star Tax:
The New Year’s Bash will implement a Star Tax, a tax for rostering Star Players for the tournament. This will not cost any extra gold, but will be taken from the skill allotment for a team. The tax is based on how much a star costs, with a 100k deductible (the first 100k that a star player costs is free). Every 50k after this first 100, rounding up, in the star’s price costs a skill from the allotment for the team (ie if a star costs 210, they will cost three skills, 260-300 would be four, etc.) This does not, however, take away from the amount of secondary skills a team has. If a star player brings a team down to three skills, and they have an allotment of three possible secondary skills, they may use three secondaries.

A few more things to note:
All rule updates up to and including the most recent errata (ie all official releases for the rules) will be included.

Skill stacking on players IS allowed up to the 6 allowed on each player in the Rulebook. (example: Blitzers with tackle, mighty blow, frenzy and arm bar are allowed).

There is NO limit on the number of times a coach can get any individual skill. (You can take 8 blocks, if you like).

You do not need to have 11 players before taking a Star.

All Star Players released and approved for BB2020 up to the date of this tournament will be included. (This includes Spikes, any from White Dwarf, and the Core Rulebook)

Highlander Rule will be in effect, so if two teams take the same Star Player in a match, neither team will be able to field him.

Apothecaries will function as described in the rules.

Another Note: If a coach wants to use an inducement that may be included in the newly-released Khorne Spike! Magazine, they may email me at barberp@sunypoly.edu or message me on discord (@BBR Paladin) with a picture of the rule and I will decide whether or not to allow it. As of the time of the completion of this ruleset, my copy of the Spike! has not arrived, so I have not been able to take a thorough look at it and determine what I want to use. Thanks for your patience on that part.
