Your Games
You’ll play three games during the event. Your first opponent will be randomised, and after that, you’ll be matched against an opponent with a similar ranking to you. Each game will last up to one hour - it’s worth familiarising yourself with your team's rules before the event, to help ensure you can complete your games within this time frame.
Team Selection.
Teams are drafted as described on page 91 of Blood Bowl Death Zone, noting the following:
Coaches may only use teams from the Blood Bowl rulebook, any up-to-date Spike! Journal’s or the Teams of Legend PDF (Warhammer-Community.com). In addition, any teams released between the time of publication and the event are in use, unless their release date falls on the day of the event.
Coaches have a budget of 600,000 copper pieces to spend for drafting their team, plus any Inducements the coach wishes to include. Any copper pieces not spent are lost. You will not be able to choose additional Inducements to make up any difference between your Team Value and your opponent’s, so we strongly advise that small sums leftover be spent on Dedicated Fans, assistant coaches, or cheerleaders.
All teams must be recorded on a Blood Bowl Team Draft list, and you will need copies of your Team Draft list for the event: one to hand in to the event referee at registration, and one for you and one for each of your opponents to reference during the game.
Injuries, Advancements and The Draft.
At the end of each round, your team fully recovers for the next game. This is to make sure no team gets heinously destroyed in the first match, and allows all the coaches in the event to get some good games in without having to worry about their favourite player getting their head smashed in.
After each match, coaches may advance one player as described on page 96 of Blood Bowl Death Zone, however the same player may not advance more than once during this event.
For this event, The Draft rules on page 96 of Blood Bowl Death Zone are not in use.
Scoring and Results
The player with the most Tournament Points will be the winner. In the case of a tie the players will be split using the following tiebreakers, in order of priority:
Bonus Points
Touchdown Difference (Touchdowns scored minus touchdowns conceded)
Touchdowns Scored
Casualties Caused
After each game you’ll need to record your results by noting how many touchdowns you scored and how many casualties you caused. These statistics will then determine the result of your game, and if you scored any bonus points.
Tournament Points are awarded as follows:
2 points for a win
1 point for a draw
0 points for a loss
Bonus Points are earned in each game for meeting the following criteria:
Scoring 3 or more touchdowns – 1 Bonus Point
Conceding 0 touchdowns – 1 Bonus Point
Inflicting 3 or more Casualties (counting only those that would normally award Star Player Points) – 1 Bonus Point
Uneven Players?
If we happen to have an uneven amount of players, one player per round will get a “bye”, that is, they won’t play a game, but to make up for it, will receive a free win 2 - 0 result. This will usually be the player currently in last position. No player will ever have to miss more than one game in this way.
Best Coast Pairings
We will be using the Best Coast Pairings (BCP) Player app for this event, to register players and record results. Simply download the app onto your phone, then, register with the event from the day before. We’ll be able to send you table pairings, placings, and everything else through the app on the night.
Don’t worry if you cannot or don’t want to use the app - the Events Staff can register you and update your results for you throughout the evening.
Best Team
During the break between Game 2 and 3, all players will have a chance to display their Sevens Teams. Players will then have a chance to vote for the Team they feel is the best, be that for painting, conversions or anything else worthy of recognition. The player whose Team receives the most votes will win the Best Team award. Any ties will be broken by the event organisers’ vote.
Favourite Game
After your final game has concluded you’ll need to vote for the opponent you enjoyed playing against the most. The player with the most favourite game votes will receive the Most Sporting Player award, seen by many to be the highest accolade of all. In the case of a tie, the award will be given to the player ranked highest (See Results)
Awards
At the end of the evening, we’ll be awarding the following prizes:
Bugman’s Blitz Champion: Awarded to the player that ranked first according to the scoring system laid out above.
Second Place: For the player that ranks second.
Third Place: For the player that ranks third.
Bugman's Half-Pint Hero: Awarded to the highest ranked player using a 'Stunty' team
Best Team: Awarded to the player voted to have the Best Painted Sevens Team.
Most Sporting Player: Awarded to the player with the most favourite game votes.
Griff Oberwald's Golden Gloves: Awarded to the player who scores the most touchdowns.
Max Spleenripper’s Carnage Cup: Awarded to the player who caused the most casualties. |
