Team Building
Teams are 1100 TV in size.
This season we have decided to tier the teams as follows -
Tier 1 – Dwarfs, Undead, Orcs, Lizardmen, Wood Elfs, Norse, Amazon, Dark Elfs, Chaos Dwarf, Skaven
Tier 2 – Khemri, Necromantic, Humans, High Elfs, Pro Elfs, Chaos, Chaos Pact, Vampires, Nurgle,
Slann, Underworld
Tier 3 – Halflings, Goblins, Ogres, Lizardmen (if stunty), Underworld (if stunty)
Provided they meet the entry requirements Lizardmen (Kroxigor and Skinks only) and Underworld (Chaos Troll and Chaos Goblins only) may also be considered stunty teams and will have the benefits of being in tier 3.
Once a team has a minimum of 11 players they may then spend any remaining gold on inducements. The following inducements are allowed –
• Wizard
• Special Play Cards (50k cards only)
• Bloodweiser Babes
• Bribes (100k for all teams other than Goblins who may buy up to 3 at 50k each)
• Chef (300k for all teams other than Halflings who may buy for 100k)
• Star Player (other star players are not really in the spirit of the Auld World Masters but to help stunty teams, they are allowed one star player. No other team is allowed any, other than the mandatory one outlined below.)
All teams also start with a number of skills and also a number of injuries to reflect the old codgers in the team.
The Skills
All teams start with 1 double and 2 normal skills of their choice free of charge.
In addition to this all teams may if they wish take up to a further 3 normal skills in their team. These skills come at a cost . . . . each skill costs 20,000 gold and for each extra skill you take your team has an additional player carry a niggle injury. This is done on the roster sheet. On the roster they should select additional ‘Match 1 – Niggle’ injuries to equal the number of extra purchased skills.
No skill may be selected more than twice for tier 1 and tier 2 teams. Tier 3 teams however may select the same skill as many times as they wish. In addition, tier 3 teams may also stack 2 skills on one player if they choose.
The Injuries
All the teams are made up of old and broken players retired from the big leagues. This means that not all of the team that starts the campaign are in tip top condition. If that wasn’t bad enough, in their decrepit state they will only get worse as the tournament continues.
Before game 1 each coach must select a number of players as outlined below to give injuries to. These injuries will apply to that player for the entire tournament. Further injuries will be added before games 2, 3 and 4 and none of the earlier allotted injuries are removed.
The tiers will impact the injuries allotted before game 1 only. After that point, all teams allot the same injuries for games 2, 3 and 4.
Game 1 injuries
• Tier 1 - Broken Collar Bone (-1S), a Niggle and confused (One player gains ‘Really Stupid’ skill)
• Tier 2 – Broken Collar Bone (-1S) and a Niggle
• Tier 3 – Broken Collar Bone (-1 S)
Game 2 Injuries – Broken Neck (-1 A) and a Niggle
Game 3 Injuries – Serious Concussion (-1AV) and Arthritis (One player gains the ‘No Hands’ skill)
Game 4 Injuries – Fractured Leg (-1 M) and Grouchy (One player gains ‘Animosity’ skill)
Injuries may not be stacked on the same player.
There are rules which only apply to tiers 1 and 2 around which players can have a stat damage injury.
• -1 Strength – Must be applied to someone with strength 3 or higher
• -1 Agility – Must be applied to someone with agility 3 or higher
• -1 AV and -1 M – can be applied to anyone with no restrictions
Tier 3 teams may give their injuries to anyone without restrictions but are still not allowed to stack injuries. |
