The four Chaos Gods - Khorne, Tzeentch, Nurgle and Slaanesh – have been watching the games at Thorball over the past two years with excited glee, knowing that their corrupting influence is spreading through the Blood Bowl Universe. In conjunction with Nuffle, they have managed to persuade some top tier teams to come to Thorball this year, with the sole intent driving their chaotic and mutating aims upon the professional
game.
Tickets
Tickets are £30 each for NAF members, and £35 for non-NAF members (includes your NAF membership), and are
available via Paypal as a gift to thor87@live.co.uk, or in person. If you are a NAF member, please provide your
membership number with your Paypal payment.

Please note: All meals are included for the weekend from Saturday Breakfast to Sunday Lunch. If you have any dietary requirements, please ensure you inform us when you purchase your ticket. Failure to do so may end up with us not being able to cater for you.

This is a firm time, as we had comments from attendees and people in the local area complaining about the level of noise and disruption by players at Thorball 2, potentially ending the event using this venue. Please refer to our Sportsmanship section for details on how we are going to deal any threats to the events future.
Team Selection.
We are going to be doing things slightly different at Thorball this year. Gone are the options of purchasing skills and mutations as part of your team, trying to come up with different ways of breaking Blood Bowl (the Extra Arms + Pass Block Slann catcher was the tipping point...intercepting on a 3+). We are going to use the “All Teams Viable” Rules

The only difference between this document and the rules set for Thorball 3 is that any race may take any of their
allowable star players, counting as a Special Skill choice. Obviously if your chosen race has no Special Skill choices,
then you cannot have a star player.
Breakfast
Breakfast will be provided each day. This is likely to comprise of Danish pastries, croissants and muffins. Soft drinks,
squash, tea and coffee are available throughout the day, and is included in your ticket price.
Raffle
We will be holding an in house and an online raffle to raise money for the Royal British Legion on the Satuday night.
If you would like to donate anything to this raffle, please get in touch ASAP. A painted team will be won in the room.

Rosters
You need to bring 2 legible copies of your Roster with you on the day, and do not need to be submitted before the event and will be checked by your first-round opponent. Any roster found to be illegal after this point will be amended upon discovery, but no penalty will be given for games prior to this, as you should have noticed beforehand. Please note: the numbering of your players on your roster is very important, and all skilled players should be placed as close to the start of your roster (so the first player with a skill would be number 1, the second would be number 2, etc).
Skills
Skill selections must be noted on your roster prior to the tournament starting. No Player may be given more than 2 skills. Skills bands/rings are preferable for skill marking, roughly using the following general guide:
Blue = Block
Green = Guard
Yellow = Agility type skills
Purple = Passing Skills
Red = Danger or strength skills
White = Wrestle
Pink = Mutations
Tournament Rules
• If two people using the same star player are scheduled to play each other, the “Distant Cousins” rule will be in
effect, meaning both coaches can use them.
• Illegal Procedures will not be in play.
• If your opponent requests to share dice, you may not refuse, and the requester may choose which set of dice to use.
• Pitches and dugouts will be provided by the event, so no need to bring your own.
• Each round, a randomly selected effect, pitch, ball or stadium will be in effect.
Thrice Damned...
It wouldn’t be a Thorball tournament without some crazy mutations coming into play, and don’t worry, there will be a round by round effect. At the start of each round, the TO will open an envelope. Within the envelope is a
combination of skills, mutations and negatraits that you will now replace all of the given skills of a player whose
number corresponds with the round number, for the rest of the tournament. If a player gains a skill, mutation or negatrait which that player already has, they gain no bonus for having it twice (so 2 x Mighty Blow would only give you the bonus once, not twice). Players can only be Thrice Damned once per tournament and may never be voluntarily left off the pitch (i.e. they have to be set up on the pitch, unless they are KO’d or in the dead/injured box).

Slaaneshi Blessed Award (Best Painted team),
Khorne’s Favourite (Most Casualties),
Tzeentch’s Chosen (Most Touchdowns),
Favoured of Nurgle (Best Defence),
The Rincewind Trophy (Stunty Cup - if we have 3+ stunty teams),
Wooden Spoon (comes with a free ticket to 1 Fistful of Blood Bowl tournament in 2019).
Please note, that a single player MAY win multiple awards, and the TO reserves the right to add or remove any awards as deemed necessary.
Sportsmanship
Sportsmanship is highly valued at these events, and as such, everyone should be on their best behaviour. Anyone found to be displaying anti-social behaviour at any point (especially after 1am...) should be reported to the TO as soon as possible, and the TO reserves the right to issue either a yellow card (-10 tournament points) or a red card
(removal from the event, and you are risking your acceptance for attendance at future events). We have never had to issue a Yellow or Red card yet, so please don’t be the first. |
