Tournament Report |
---|
Due to COVID restrictions we had to slice the numbers in half with only a few weeks notice, but thankfully everybody was either happy to attend, or to defer to next February.
To comply with restrictions the event ran as follows:
Saturday: 6 groups of 6 coaches (randomly drawn) and each coach played 3 games. Games were arranged using Swiss.
At the end of the day the top three coaches in each pod qualified for one of three Championships pods, and the other coaches went into the Chumpionship stream.
Sunday: 3 groups of 6 coaches contending for the main title, and 3 competing in the B stream. Scores from Saturday were carried over and applied as bonuses. Thankfully Kfoged was able to work some Excel magic to help us keep track of everything as we had multiple Score files over the weekend.
To try to minimise the need for the usual throng around the admin desk, we made heavy use of Whatsapp. There was an Announcements Group, an FAQ Group, as well as individual groups for each pod on each day. There was also an appointed person in each group who reported their pod's results each round, |
