Rules

Welcome to the Red Trophy V! This year's spectacle is shaping up to be the most exciting yet, with a fresh new edition of rules to sink your teeth into and a long awaited return to the tabletop for us all meaning that we should be in for a cracking weekend.

The Red Trophy V will be using the new Blood Bowl Second Season Edition (or Blood Bowl 2020 as it is commonly known) rules, along with the “Teams of Legend” PDF and the designers' Errata which can be found over on the official Blood Bowl website, as well as the inclusion of the Daemons of Khorne roster and the Slann team, which may be found under the NAF's “Rules For Tournaments 2021” document.

Team Building:

Teams competing at the Red Trophy are made of highly trained, world renowned and completely insane Blood Bowlers. As such, coaches are given a generous starting gold pieces allowance of 1,200,000 for the purposes of selecting players, re rolls, sideline staff and purchasing any inducements permitted. This is completely separate from the inclusion of additional skills, which will be covered below.

Inducements:

A maximum of two star players may be selected but only after 11 players have been selected from the standard roster of your chosen team. In the instance that two coaches meet and have rostered the same star players, they may both be used, but the coaches flip a coin. Whoever loses the coin toss must for the duration of the game refer to their star player with the phrasing “Shm” replacing the first letters of the player's name, for example, Griff Oberwald would become Shmriff Shmoberwald.

The only other inducements permitted are Bloodweiser Kegs, Halfling Master Chefs, and Bribes, which are paid for out of the 1,200,000 gold pieces referenced above prior to the tournament. No inducements are able to be purchased at the table, so spend that gold!

Additional Skills:

Once you have fully purchased your team as described above, you may distribute additional skills amongst your players. A coach may select ONE of the following two skill packages:

8 Primary Skills OR
5 Primary Skills and 2 Secondary Skills

A maximum of two skills may be stacked onto the same player (including both Secondary skills if you wish). Aside from this, there are no other limitations such as limits on duplicate skills etc. Statistic increases are not an option, otherwise... they'd be listed above...

All teams must be painted with at least 3 colours and be comprised of appropriate fantasy miniatures which reflect the positionals they are intended to represent.

The Prayers to Nuffle Table:

Any reference to rolling on the “Prayers to Nuffle” Table must utilise the Exhibition variant of the table found on page 101 of the Blood Bowl rulebook.
