Resurrection style – all injuries/deaths are healed in between games.

TEAM TOURNAMENT – You will either register in a team of 3 Players, or be assigned a team at the door.

Roster Creation:

You are given 1,200,000 gold pieces to build your team.  You may purchase players, rerolls, fan factor, coaches, and cheerleaders as normal with this money.

Wizards, Journeymen, Special Play cards, and Mercenaries are NOT allowed

You may purchase any other inducements for your team, including Star Players (see below), as described in the Blood Bowl 2020 rulebook or Deathzone supplement.

       STAR PLAYERS

If you are including a Star Player, you must have 11 players on your team BEFORE hiring them.

You cannot use Igors or Apothecaries on Star Players.

HIGHLANDER: If both players attempt to field the same Star Player, they are both thrown out of the match.

TRIPLE HIGHLANDER: Since this is a team tournament, Star Players are considered to be unique across allied teams. Only one copy of any Star Player may be registered per squad. (Example: If Coach 1 rosters Deeproot and Griff onto their team, Coaches 2 and 3 may not take Deeproot or Griff but may still choose from other available Stars)

**All new star players from the Second Season Edition and subsequent Spike Journals will be allowed.  Second Season Edition has given Star Players each their own "Special Rule".  If you have a Star Player on your roster, you are expected to explain the "Special Rule" to your opponent.

Player Advancements

You may also choose to spend up to an additional 200,000 gold pieces to purchase player advancements of your choice:

Normal skills may be chosen for 20,000 gold coins

Secondary skills may be chosen for 40,000 gold coins

No player may be given more than two additional skills.

No Random skills may be chosen.

No Skill may be taken more than 3 times.

No stat increases may be taken.

Star players may not be given any skills or stat increases.

CHIMERA PLAYER: Each coach must assign 1 unskilled lineman positional (0-12 or 0-16 positional) on their roster as their “Chimera”. This player will roll on the Chimera Cup Advancement Table before EACH game. These advancements are permanent for the duration of this tournament. (They are recorded on the match report). Both coaches roll separately for this advancement.

If, for any reason the Chimera rolls either a skill/trait already known by the player, or rolls a skill/trait they cannot legally take… they instead undergo a Grotesque Mutation and gain all of these skill/traits: (Projectile Vomit, Decay, and Plague-Ridden).

NAF Tournament Info

This is a NAF approved tournament. You may register onsite for $10.
More information can be found at TheNAF.net

Timing

The game round time limit WILL be strictly enforced. You will receive ‘Time Remaining’ updates from the Tournament Organizer to help you stay on pace.

The 4 Minute turn rule will not be used unless the Tournament organizer feels your game is in danger of not completing in the two hour timelimit. He may insist on a timer being used and enforcing the 4 minute turn rule.
When time is called, you will play until each coach has had equal number of turns.

Dice

Only GW or NAF Block Dice may be used and only the Chimera Cup D6’s received at registration may be used. We discourage sharing dice, but that is between you and your opponent.

Scoring

After each round you will fill out both the game sheet and the etiquette sheet based on the game just completed.

EACH WIN is worth 60pts

EACH DRAW is worth 30pts

EACH LOSS is worth 10pts

EACH TOUCHDOWN is worth +2 bonus pts

EACH CAS from Blocking is worth +1 bonus pts

EACH TOUCHDOWN or CAS (for ANY reason) with the CHIMERA player is worth +1 bonus pts

Pairing

Random pairing will be used for the first round, followed by Swiss pairing on rounds 2 and 3. Coaches on each squad will be paired against opponents based on individual records. (The best player on squad 1 will face off against the best player from squad 2)

Overtime

There will be no overtime played. If your game ends in a draw, it’s a draw.

Tiebreakers

The Scoring system has been setup to hopefully get the most accurate representation of how everyone has performed. If, by chance there is a tie in Tournament points, the ties will be broken in this order:

Winning Percentage

Head to Head record

Net Touchdowns

Net Casualties

Total TDs plus Total CAS

Chimera Duel to the Death (Each Team picks one of their Chimeras to Duel, then roll armor/injury until one dies)

If it is still a tie at that point, the tournament organizer will use his best judgment in finding a way to break the tie.

Painting

All teams are expected to meet the minimum painted guidelines. They must have 3 colors on them and have had some attempt at making them appear finished. If this is an issue, please advise us. Some discretion will be provided for new players or especially thematic teams.

Sportsmanship

We are here for the fun of the game. Sportsmanship is not encouraged from the coaches it is required!
Fouling 16 turns in a row and running up the score is not poor sportsmanship, but gloating and ridiculing your opponent while doing so is.

The tournament Organizer will strictly enforce the “Don’t be a Douche” policy. Basically, it consists of not performing any acts of Douchebaggery.

Awards

To be eligible for an award, you must have played all 4 rounds of the tournament and stay for the awards ceremony, unless there is a legitimate reason provided by the coach and they notify the organizers before leaving.

The following trophies will be given out after the last round:

The Chimera Cup Pride- Most tournament points earned as a team

The Chimera Cup Pit- 2nd most tournament points earned as a team

The Chimera Cup Herd - 3rd most tournament points earned

Biggest Plumage - Best overall individual record based on tournament points earned

Swiftest Hooves - Coach that scored the most TDs

Adamant Skin - Coach that allowed the fewest TDs

Sharpest Fangs - Coach that inflicted the most Casualties from Blocking

Stunty Cup– The Stunty Team (Halflings, Goblins, Ogre, Snotlings) with the most tournament points earned

Fan Favorite - Fan Favorite is will be voted on by all participating players to decide their favorite team. It could be based on anything, but your vote counts!

Best Chimera - *Chimera Lineman Painting Competition* voted on by the players during lunch break

Wooden Spoon - Individual that finished with lowest number of Tournament pts

Spread The Wealth

Once 6+ teams have registered, we will implement the Spread the Wealth rule:

Individual coaches may only win one award. If they are in line to win more than one award, they will be asked which one they would prefer and the next coach in line will be given the other award. Tournament organizers reserve the right to adjust the awards based on previously explained reasons or extenuating circumstances.
