Tournament Statistics

Winner

kainis39 (30061)High Elf
Apparently almost unbeatable at the Evergreen Lanes, having most recently taken the Spooktacular Spooky trophy, and with four wins and a loss today his elves made their way to a victory over the rest of the field.

Runner up

Most Touchdowns

aarona (24437)Chaos Dwarf
With a blowout 3 touchdowns in Smoke On Water's final game of the tournament, the top-hatted monsters from over the border swiped the most touchdowns award

Most Casualties

Squigmire (25800)Orc
As ever, orcs prove themselves to be durable, but even without any mighty blow on this roster, Yellow Big Un inflicted 12 casualties on the opposition, leading to both the best total casualties, and best casualty differential across all ten coaches.

Stunty Cup

Best Painted

Other Awards

Vice (25799)Skaven
Narrowly beating out the tournament organiser, with a total of 32 casualties and touchdowns both for and against, the squishy nature of Skaven, combined with the speed and scorability of multiple Gutter Runners, allowed Vick Nice to take home silverware, despite suffering brutal casualties in almost every round.
Tacki (25141)Chaos Chosen
There must be something about the colour yellow, with Yellow Big Un inflicting the most damage, and Yellow Blasterds the most parsimonious among the teams, only letting four touchdowns through.

Information
It's wintertime in the Pacific Northwest, the days are short and the skies are grey, but don't despair, here's a ray of Blood Bowl Sevens shaped fun to lift your spirits! Five games of possibly the most fun version of Blood Bowl that exists, with a few twists that make it just like a day at the beach. During an English summer.

This will be the third running of the tournament. First time round we had no skills for any players, but to make up with that a custom weather and kick off table that had coaches scratching their heads in confusion and rage, what with wasps, donkeys and sewage.

Second time round we removed most of the custom rules, except for our beloved chainsaws. And we forgot to ban coaches from inducing mercenaries.

This time round, we're shaking it up again:

5 games of Sevens. Most of them are being played on the beach as usual, but the third round will be away from the beach, on the cobblestones behind the seedy hotels and pubs facing the seaside. Round 3 will follow the NAF Street Bowl rules (although no changes to team builds are permitted - standard Sevens team build rules are to be followed, as below). A custom kick off table will be supplied for Round 3 (closer to the 2020 Sevens Rules, as the current Street Bowl kick off hews closer to the 2016 variant).

Coastal weather table is in effect for all five rounds.

For round 5, one chosen non-loner player on your team will gain the Chainsaw and No Hands skills for one drive only - this player needs to be nominated while setting up your players for that drive. Note that this does *not* count as a Secret Weapon, unlike other chainsaws.

Team building:
Three stages.
First, build your team:
You have 600 TV for players and staff (players, apo, coaches and cheerleaders, and rerolls). Any money not spent at this stage is lost and cannot be used in the next stage.

Second, inducement stage:
100 TV for inducements, as per p93 of Death Zone. All inducements are permitted, with the exception of wizards and mercs. (Note that as extra rerolls cost 150k, you *cannot* buy them during the inducement phase)

Third: skills:
80k to spend on chosen skills only: primary skills are 20k, secondary skills are 40k. No player can have more than two skills, and no two players can have the same additional skills (no Guard spam, thank you very much!)

Prizes:
First Place (the "Iron Cone")

Tournament Report
The day started with fog and traffic delays, the Naggarondian deity Wa'dot taking time to clear the roads towards the venue. And with Nurgle claiming two of the initial entrants, the tournament was run with 10 coaches, an increase from 2022 but still

Despite expectations, the weather for the first four matches was perfect, with torrential rain blighting only the first drive of the last round, and the journey back for most coaches. Although in the GW-supplied Coastal Weather table, Torrential Rain only lasts a single drive before being rerolled, this is pretty unbalancing and we may revisit this in future years, with assistance from our Weather Mages.

Stunty teams were conspicuously absent from the field today - we hope that in future years, the lovable little guys will make a return.
