What to Bring
• Painted team with suitable models.
• Skill rings, coloured rubber bands, or another appropriate way to identify skills/positions
• Block dice
• D6s, d8, d16
• 3 copies of your team roster including skill purchases and inducements

Special Tournament Rules:
• All games will use the regular kick-off and weather tables.
• Games will have a maximum length of 2 hours 15 minutes. If you are unable to finish within the given time frame, the referee may stop the game prematurely. A referee’s decision is final in all cases.
• HORATIO THE GHOST CHICKEN – Horatio has been abused in successive years and now only appears as a ghost! The spirit of the vicious rooster will peck the life out of anything! Horatio does not start on the field, but when someone suffers an injury, that player is replaced with Horatio, under the control of the player who suffered the casualty. You may activate Horatio on your next turn by moving him as per the ball and chain rule. He must be moved the entire extent of his MA score with no “go for it” rolls allowed. Being a ghost, we will not assist blocks, but is counted as an opponent in all cases where an agility roll needs to be made, including dodges, due to his unnatural presence. In addition, considering his incorporeal nature, he is treated as a prone player for purposes of jumping.

If/when further injuries are suffered, Horatio disappears from his current square and appears in the newly injured player’s square, possibly under the control of your opponent.

HORATIO MA4/ST1/AG3+/PA-/AV6+ Ball&Chain, Dodge, Stunty, Titchy, No Hands, Peck (Horatio operates exactly as per the Ball&Chain rule, except that he may use stab instead of a block action when he enters an occupied square)

• At the beginning of the game, each coach puts their chicken cards into a stack and draws two and puts one back. They may use their card as a special play card. The cards are as follows:
1. Incorporeal - Horatio moves three squares in any direction you want, passing through players successfully without any stabbing as if they were empty squares. He must end his movement in an empty square.
2. Frighten - Instead of moving Horatio, you may choose one opposition player within 2 squares of him. Move the opposition player one square in any direction. This is a free movement and it will never trigger the need for dodging.
3. Ouija Board - Add or subtract 1 from each of the Ball and Chain d6 movement rolls for a turn.
4. Silvered Armour - If Horatio stabs you and breaks your armour, forego the injury roll and instead place the player prone.
5. Voodoo Call – You may play this card to remove Horatio from his current square and place him adjacent to Farmer Ben instead.
6. Crimson Beak - When you are in control of Horatio, you may automatically break armour with a stab, but you must subtract 3 from the injury roll.
7. Revenge - If your opponent hits Horatio, but doesn’t get him off the pitch, Horatio may make a free stab.
8. BOO! – Instead of activating Horatio, you scare an opposing player. A random opponent on the pitch is placed prone (no armour roll).

Rules Not In Effect
• There are no special pitch rules or special balls.
• Teams will resurrect at the end of each game. No SPPs, injuries or any roster changes carry over between games.
• Illegal Procedure and the 4-minute time limit will not be enforced.
• Teams with the ability to raise killed players will be allowed to, but they will not carry over to the next game.

Team Building
• All NAF sanctioned teams are eligible.
• Teams get 1.2 million gold to construct their roster.
• Teams must purchase a minimum of 11 players.
• Star players are allowed if you have already purchased eleven players. In addition, players may induce a tournament specific star, Farmer Ben.

FARMER BEN - MA5/ST4/AG3+/PA-/AV9+ LONER (5+), STAB, KICK, WRESTLE, PICTCHFORK* (190k)
*once per match, Farmer Ben may add 3 to a stab roll, chosen after the roll is made. If you choose this, you subtract 3 from the subsequent injury roll.

• Teams may purchase any inducement from the core rule book or Death Zone supplement except for Special Play Cards, Biased Referees, Mercenaries, and Wizards. This includes bribes, riotous rookies, the halfling chef, and wandering apothecaries among others.
• ANYONE WHO SUBMITS THEIR ROSTER BY FEBRUARY 17th, 2023 BY 12:00pm (noon) WILL RECEIVE A FREE CHEERLEADER INDUCEMENT.

Skill Packages
Depending on which team you use, you may add additional skills to your players. If you induce a star player, you forfeit one skill, for each star you induce. You must forfeit two skills if you induce a premium star: Griff Oberwald, Hakflem Skuttlespike, Deeproot Strongbranch, or Morg ‘N’ Thorg. If you induce Farmer Ben, you do not forfeit any skills.
