Straight out of the streets of the Gem City, two Ogres have risen above the rest. Having played first hand in many of the local circuit tournaments across the country, these Ogres have put together a grand tournament for the 6th Year. They hope to pit the best Ogre Teams and “Other Races” coaches against one another for the coveted Ogre-hio Open Trophy.

Tournament entry provides: 4 Ogre-Tastic Games of Bloodbowl with some of the coolest nerds you could ever hang with. Ogre-Pat downs optional and performed by OTS (if present, otherwise Miss Erin will put the hurt on you!)

Painting and Modeling requirements:
All teams are expected to meet the minimum painted guidelines. They must have 3 colors on them and no metal or plastic showing. Non standard or converted minis are acceptable, but we must be able to easily tell the positions apart. You will not be allowed to proxy minis in any way that can confuse an opponent, for example: “This cheeto is actually a Bull Centaur.” If you have any doubt at all about your team please email me and we will discuss it: BBSchawn@gmail.com.

Tournament Rules:
4 games in one day (Iron Man Tournament). 1st Round will be random pairings. Rounds 2, 3, and 4 will be Swiss pairing. There will be a Tournament Champion and Stunty Cup Champion.
***NOTE*** ANY CURRENT ROSTERS, Rules, Spikes, or Errata that are RELEASED and PUBLISHED BY March 1, 2023 will considered tournament legal. Any changes to ruleset or rosters will be posted on the Ogre-hio Open Facebook page.

-(NEW!!!!!) In years past, we have had issues with games not being played to completion and this has caused issues. This year… we will be instituting 4 Minute turns. No exceptions. I realize that this is not a popular choice, however we want everyone to have a good time and finish their games.

-Weather will be rolled by the Top Table at the start of each match and will apply to everyone’s games at the start of each round. Weather table in the 2020 rulebook will be used.

-The Kickoff table in the 2020 Rulebook will be used.

-Any official team in the 2020 Rulebook or published Spike (which will take the place of 2020 Rulebook Team) is considered legal. In addition, Slann will also be available to be used.

-Tournament will be a resurrection style tournament. So any injuries your team suffers will not carry over to the next game, and any SPPs they earn will also be erased. The roster you start the tournament with will be the same for each round you play.

-Coaches will have 1,150,000gc to spend on building their rosters. Team MAY NOT use star players. Guido Grottoflip – Tournament Star, is the ONLY star available to be used. Guido Grottoflip is available to ALL teams. NO SKILL IMPROVEMENTS may be added to this player. -NOTE- Highlander Rule will not be used

Round 1 will use random pairings. Rounds 2, 3, and 4 of tournament will be using a Swiss pairing system to handle matchup. All tournament point totals after the 4th round will determine the Tournament and Stunty Cup Championship winners. In the event of a tie, 3 tiebreakers are in place to determine the overall winners. Awards will be distributed on the “Share the Love” concept. Meaning if a coach is eligible for 2 awards, they will be given the choice of which they would like to receive.

Sportsmanship:

Sportsmanship is not encouraged from the coaches, it is required! To make sure that everyone who attends will have fun. The Tournament directors will issue a warning to anyone who is taking away from the fun environment we are looking for. If the behavior continues you will be asked to leave the tournament. Arguing with the tournament directors or in any way showing them up can also result in a warning.
***An important note on sportsmanship: Fouling 16 turns in a row or running up the score is not poor sportsmanship. But gloating and ridiculing your opponent while doing so is. Remember we are here to have a good time.

Best Sportmans Award will not be present at this tournament as everyone is expected to be a good sport unless you want Ogre lovin’!
