Tournament Statistics

Winner

Dallbun (27205)Skaven
A solid performance by some stinking rats with utterly terrifying Ball and Chains (Balls and Chain?), cunningly disguised as Tzeentchian demons...

Runner up

burk (16657)Skaven
Second place for burk, with as many wins and draws as Dallbun, but losing on TDs.

Most Touchdowns

Most Casualties

giandroid (31061)Skaven
The maximum casualties (13) was by Burk's Sniff Snuff, but he'd already got the Silver Cheese Plate for most TDs, so the Bloody Cheese Plate went to Giando's Ratbot Rumblers with 9 and a tasty +4 casualty differential.

Information
Every year, the Freedom Bowl is run in Washington in late spring to celebrate the many great humans in the area, competing in the greatest sport of all, Blood Bowl.

However, the many rodents in that area of Northwest Naggarond have grown envious of the glory, and have decided to run their own, Skaven-only tournament, in the depths of the winter. No man-things allowed, only true cheese-loving creatures need apply! 3 games of full-contact, lactose tolerant Blood Bowl near the Oregon/Washington border

Tournament Report
A rainy day and the start of Spring Break for some people meant that we had slightly fewer coaches than we'd hoped for, but this was a fromage-themed amuse bouche for everyone before the serious World Cup preparations begin.

There was a good mix of teams: both traditional Skaven and Pestilens, Moulder and Mors all made a showing. I'd have brought Eshin as a ringer team if we'd had another coach, but I'll save that horror show of knife-wielding ratmen for another day.

Things we'd do a bit different next time:

the sloping pitch was very, very slopey - whoever had the advantage during the first half was usually well placed over others. We might need to modify this next time so that it's determined *before* the teams agree on who's kicking and receiving. Or we might make the pitch slope the other way, just to mess with people and make it bad for everyone more equally..

Bomber is vicious, and as always, seems too dangerous for his 50k price tag. In future runnings, we may restrict to star players who *only* have the 'Underworld Challenge' keyword, although a couple of appearances by Varag didn't seem to be game-breaking.

Subterreanean Weather is both too hard to spell, and too complicated for anyone to handle, and it was Nice Weather every time anyway, so that will need some tweaks. I don't think GW really playtested Geysers, or thought about how many rolls would be required with Seismic Activity...

Finally, no Secret Weapon on Pestilens *and* allowing Foul Appearance on every single player might make for slightly too many dice rolls per game. Fatigued, I saw some coaches forget some of those skills towards the end of the day anyway...

But a good fun time was had by all. Some tweaks to balance things for year two, but nothing catastrophic, and every coach went home with some cheese...
