Texas Open Blood Bowl Player Packet

: Blood Bowl 2020
Number of Games: Six. 3 each day with optional 7’s social Friday night for early arrivals.
Format: Exhibition Play with team resurrection after every match

What to bring: Your team, dice (1d8, Block Dice, 2d6’s, and a d16), a Blood Bowl pitch, Dugouts, Templates, Team Tokens, 8 Rosters (one for you, one for each of your opponents, and one for the Event Staff)

A note on teams: Third party and 3-D printed teams are totally acceptable for this event. Your teams do need to be easily identifiable at a glance by both you AND your opponent. If your minis are not so standard please label the bases, and please nothing along the lines of the dreaded Meeple teams or minis you just pulled from another board game you had lying around. Your opponent won’t remember what position everyone from your Marvel United lineup is supposed to represent.

Team Drafting
Coaches may utilize the rules found in any of the sources below to draft their team. All Blood Bowl 2020 rules published before August 4, 2023 will be eligible for use.
-Blood Bowl: The Official Rules
-Spike Journals
-Spike! Almanac 2021
-Spike! Almanac 2022
-White Dwarf
-FAQs, errata, and beta rules found via www.warhammer-communicty.com/faqs
-The NAF Slann team is also permitted and can be found here https://www.thenaf.net/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/NAF-Rules-for-Tournaments-2023.pdf
-All Coaches are required to draft teams utilizing the Exhibition Play Rules found on page 101 of the Blood Bowl Rule Book.
Coaches are allotted 1,200,000 Gold to draft a team. Each coach will have an additional 200,000 Gold to purchase skills (but not stat upgrades). Primary skills will cost 20,000 gold and Secondary skills will cost 40,000 Gold. A Skill may only be purchased 3 times for a team and each player may not have more than 2 skills purchased for them.

Coaches are required to have no less than 11 and no more than 16 players on their team. Coaches may also purchase Re-rolls and Sideline Staff from the 1,200,00 Gold allotted for drafting a Team.

Star Players are permitted but your roster must contain 11 players before you hire any Star Players. Skills may not be purchased for any Star Players.

Inducements are not permitted with the following exceptions for stunty teams (sometimes the little guys need a hand):
-The Halfling Master Chef
-Bribes
-Riotous Rookies

Policies
Scoring:
Scoring will be awarded as follows:
Win: 60 points
Draw: 30 points
Loss: 10
5 points if you win by 3 or more touchdowns
2 points if you won by 2 or more touchdowns
5 points if you lost by only 1 touchdown
5 points if you caused 2 or more casualties to your opponent’s team
2 points if you caused 1 casualty to your opponent’s team
Some events only count casualties caused by blocking. We like to think that the more blood in Blood Bowl the better. Any casualties caused by foul actions, secret weapons, or crowd surfing your opponent definitely count! Your opponent hurting himself- failed dodges, botching a teammate throw, failing a Go For It, etc.- sadly do not count, but the crowd will definitely still enjoy the carnage.

Painting: The 3 color standard will be in effect at this event. All miniatures require at least a minimum of 3 colors and a finished base in order to be playable at the event.

Best painted will be determined by the players via ballot voting on day one of the event during lunch. If you would like to be considered for best painted the event staff will provide further guidance at the event. Please note if you didn’t paint your team you may still vote but cannot win.

Awards:
Best overall- Most tournament points
First loser- Second most tournament points
Best Sportsmanship- Scored by your opponents over the course of 6 games.
Best Painted- Pretty self explanatory here

Here for the Little Guys- Best stunty team.
-Ogre, Halfling, Goblin, and Snotling teams only
-Griff, Hakflem, Morg, and Kreek would never play for any team designated as ‘stunty’!
Best Offense- Most TD’s scored over 2 days
Most bodies stacked- Most casualties to the opposing team
The Golden Booger- Normally a wooden spoon but that’s a bit cliché. We’ve got a giant booger for your subpar performance…but hey it’s gold. Well gold colored at least.

If there are ties for any awards tiebreakers will be used to determine the winner.
