Information
What you need on the day
-Painted team with numbered players
-Block dice, 2D6 and 1D8
-Phone with chess clock app

Special rules
Each of the three games is budgeted at 60 min per player using a chess clock. This time is used for playing the turns. The time between drives (set up, kick off etc.) is not included in this time. Once the timer runs out your opponent is allowed to time you out on any subsequent turn after one minute.

Scoring
Round 1 fixtures will be randomly drawn on the morning of the event, immediately after registration is complete. Games 2 and 3 will be scheduled on a Swiss-style basis.
At the end of each game, the competitors are required to submit a match result, recording both teams' touchdowns and team casualties (caused by whatever means – crowds, weapons, blocks, failed dodges, the lot!), as well as the remaining time on the chess clock for each coach.
Coaches competing in the tournament will receive four points for each win, two points for each draw and one point for a loss of only one touchdown incurred during the course of the tournament. Losses by more than one touchdown and conceding teams will receive no points.

Placings will be decided by the Coaches Total score. In the event of a tie placings will be decided by the following order: Opponents score, combined net TD and Net CAS. For the awards for Most Casualties and Most TDs, net Casualties and net TD differences will be used as tie-breakers respectively.

Team Creation
-Each team has a total of 1,150,000 gp to spend on roster creation and must hire a minimum of 11 players. Any unspent cash at roster creation will be lost and all teams will be considered having the same Current Team Value (CTV) for the purpose of inducements and prayers to Nuffle.
-Cash given may also be used to buy rerolls, assistant coaches, cheerleaders, apothecary and inducements.
-This is a resurrection tournament, so no SPP are gained, and injuries, casualties or deaths do not carry on from one game to another.

Other rules:
The Tournament Organiser (TO) will be on-site throughout proceedings and may be called upon to settle disputes that cannot be amicably resolved by referring to the rulebook as they occur. The TO's ruling will be made in good faith and, in all cases, is final – his decision should be accepted in good grace, even if you are convinced that the wrong decision has been made. No exceptions!
Each game is allotted 2 ¼ hours in total within which it must be completed. No overtime is played at the event. Both coaches must ensure that games and pre/post-match sequences are completed on time, as no time extensions are possible. Event officials have the right to end matches as they stand if the matches are not finished within the allocated time.
The BB2020 rules will be used as the core ruleset for the tournament.

Arguing the Call and the Head Coach rules will be in play for this tournament.
Taking Moves Back
If a coach has moved a player & then starts moving another player, the first player cannot have his move taken back, this is also true of rolling dice. Once you have rolled a die, it "cements" that player's movement/action.
Cocked Dice
All cocked dice are to be re-rolled; no exceptions. Cocked dice include those that do not finish up on the gaming table or are 'even a little bit' off lying flat on the table.
That guy already moved!
In tournament play, the convention is that a player's facing will change once it has completed a move - hence you should be able to look and see everyone who has moved at any point. This convention is to be followed.

Tournament Report
Bowl & Burger Bash
Today Bowl & Burger Bash took place in Christchurch. One sick child and a pre tournament CAS reduced the field from 10 to 8 players. Still a respectable number and well above expectations. Part of the motivation for the event was to get new players into Blood Bowl in general or encourage them to dip their toes in the tournament scene. Three players with a grand total of one game and four turns between them took part. Round one started with random pairings but each of the new players ended up facing a veteran.
Round one went as follows:
Alec (Amazons) 2 - 0 Ash (Skaven)
Jeremy (Khorne) 0 - 4 Gil (Chaos Renegades)
Nick (Dark Elves) 0 - 2 vs Adam (Khorne)
Tom (Dwarves) 2 - 1 vs Jesse (Humans)
Gil’s renegades did some serious work and managed to inflict horrific casualties on their khornate foes. Simon dropped in between rounds and handed out some swag to the new recruits.
Round two
Alec 1 - 0 Tom
Gil 2 - 1 Adam
Ash 1 - 2 Jesse
Nick 1 - 1 Jeremy
The big upset this round was Alec’s Amazons roughing up the dwarfs. Alec had uttered the fateful words “I don’t mind who I get, as long as it isn’t dwarves” before the match but banged a few out quickly and got the job done.
Round three saw a top of the table clash between Gil and Alec. Gil received and was forced to score relatively quickly. Alec counter scored, only to have his hopes of going into the second half with the score tied dashed by a plucky goblin who managed to deliver the ball via airmail.
Adam roughed up Tom’s dwarves to secure 3rd place. Jeremy and Ash had a bit of a war but ultimately Ash rat ogre did what rat ogres do and broke his heart by butchering a critical blitz and a beastman khorngor ran the ball in to win the game 1 - 0. One player had to retire early so I was able to enjoy watching the final matches.
Round 3
Gil 3 - 2 Alec
Adam 1 - 0 Tom
Jeremy 1 - 0 Ash.
Thanks to everybody who helped with the event organisation and a big thanks to all of the players who made it on the day. Christchurch now has two Blood Bowl events on the calendar and we have recruited at least one extra player for the local league.
