NAF Tournament Info
This is a NAF approved tournament. There will be someone onsite accepting registration for the cost of $5/year. You can find more information or sign up (for $10/year) at www.thenaf.net.

General Rules
Please consult the Rules for NAF Tournaments 2023 document. If you have questions please contact the Tournament Organizer before the event. The above will be used unless stated below. The exhibition Prayers to Nuffle table will be used.

Team Building Rules
You will have 970K gold pieces to build your team. You may purchase players, rerolls, fan factor, apothecary, coaches, and cheerleaders as normal with this gold. You must have 11 or more players at this point. You can ONLY purchase inducements with this money if the inducement is restricted or discounted based on your race’s special rules, except star players. As examples, Goblins can buy bribes and halflings can buy the master chef with this gold without impacting gold for skills.

Stunty teams are defined as any team without a Strength 3 or 4 player at this point in team building. This allows teams that are not always considered stunty! Non-stunty stars MAY be added later.

Any of the 970K that is not spent is NOT lost yet! The remaining amount is available if you spend more than 100k on inducements in the next step.

Then, you may spend up to 100K gold pieces on inducements and skills. If you buy inducements at this step, you must buy inducements before purchasing skills. If your inducements cost more than 100k you can use the remainder from the previous step. Note that if you do this you will not be able to purchase any skills.

Star players published by Games Workshop for BB2020 are allowed. All Mega-Stars have their value increased by 20k. Cindy Piewhistle has her value increased 10k. All other inducements available based on the General Rules are allowed except Special Play Cards, mercenaries, inducements from Head Coaches Handbook, and Bloodweiser Kegs. (Josef Bugman will not allow inferior drinks at his event.)

Stat increases are not allowed.
Primary skills cost 20k
Secondary skills cost 40k
Secondary skills cost 30k if the team is a Stunty team
You may assign no more than 2 purchased skills per player.
You may not assign a purchased skill to a Star Player.

Weather Table
The Subterranean Weather Table, from Death Zone page 78, will be used for all weather rolls. The initial weather each round will be Perfect Conditions. Weather changes occur as normal during each game.

Resurrection
At the end of each round of the tournament, all players are healed of any injuries and dead players come back to life.

Special Rule
Josef Bugman is providing his own special brew to all KOed players. It is guaranteed to get them back on the pitch. At the end of each drive every player with at least one bread tie will have one bread tie removed from the player. Then any player in the KO box will have two bread ties added to the player and be moved to the Reserves box. At the end of the game all bread ties are removed.

Players with one bread tie have the following skill:
Drunk -- The player is drunk and easily distracted. Because of this you must roll a D6 immediately after declaring an Action for the player, but before taking the Action. On a roll of 1 he stands around goofing off. The player’s activation ends immediately. Additionally, This player loses their Tackle Zone until they are next activated.

Players with two bread ties have the following skill:
Really Drunk -- This skill is the same as Drunk, except the die roll is modified by -1 for each player of either team in an adjacent square that is Drunk, Really Drunk, or Wasted.

Players with three or more bread ties have the following skill:
Wasted -- A Wasted player has all of the effects of the No Hands skill and the Ball & Chain skill.
(Note: To become wasted a player must be KOed in two consecutive drives.)

The coach of a Drunk or Really Drunk player may choose the order of Drunk, Really Drunk, Bone-head, Really Stupid, Wild Animal, and Animal Savagery.

Other Rules
Play till the whistle blows. There is no championship game. The standings will solely be determined by total points. Overtime will not be played in any round.

Time
Rounds will be strictly limited to 2 hour. Once the tournament official calls time, each coach may complete the turn in progress only if there was at least one fully-completed action taken or any dice have been rolled for the turn before time was called. A strict 4-minute limit turn will be enforced for this turn.

Dice
You and your opponent must agree on dice to use, otherwise dice will be provided.
GW or NAF Block Dice only
You must be willing to share dice with your opponent.
Agree before the game on cocked dice, dice off the table, etc, please just be consistent.

Painting
All teams are expected to meet the minimum painted guidelines. The coach must attempt to make all figures appear finished. Each figure should also be identifiable so that the opponent can know their position and skills.

Scoring
After each round, you will fill out your game sheet based on the game just completed.

Per match, one of:
+10 points if you lose
+30 points if you draw
+50 points if you win
Per match:
+3 points if you won by 2 Touchdowns
+2 points if you score 3 or more Touchdowns
+1 point per caused Casualty from Blocking (max 5)

Awards
To win an award the coach must play in all rounds. Tiebreakers will be determined by the Tournament Organizer as needed. (For example, for Best Offense the first tiebreaker could be the highest Touchdown differential.) The Tournament Organizer reserves the right to adjust the winners in the best interest of the tournament. (For example, if a coach would win two awards one of the awards may be given to another coach.)
Bugman’s Champion - First place team in standings with the most overall points
Bugman’s Runner-Up - Second place team in standings with the most overall points
Bugman’s Pint-Sized Champion - Stunty team in standings with the most overall points
Bugman’s Bottom - Coach that finished lowest in standings with the fewest overall points
Bugman’s Best Sport - Player who received the most favorite opponent votes
Bugman’s Best Defense - Team that allowed the fewest TDs
Bugman’s Buffest - Team that suffered the least Casualties from Blocking
Bugman’s Brawler - Team that caused the most Casualties from Blocking

Art Award
The winner (if present) of the 2023 Art Award, will be picking the winner of this award. It will go to the person that they believe most artistically represented the tournament and is willing to accept the attached obligations. Consideration will be given for presentation, concept, and execution of the team in relation to the theme of the tournament. The winner will receive a free entry next year. They will also be responsible for making the prize and choosing the Art Award winner at Bugman’s Bowl 2024.

Sportsmanship
We are here for the fun of the game. Sportsmanship is not only encouraged from the coaches, it is required! We all have bad luck occasionally, but bad behavior will be addressed by the Tournament Organizer!

Fouling 16 turns in a row, stalling, or running up the score is not poor sportsmanship, but gloating and ridiculing your opponent is.

The Last Word
The Tournament Organizer will be the final arbitrator for any interpretation of the rules. The rules may change without notice. Please check the version number.
