TourPlay link to submit your roster: https://tourplay.net/en/blood-bowl/border-princes-bash

Please have your rosters submitted by 2/10/2024

Each participant will receive custom Border Prince Bash D6s (we will have 30 sets available, I highly doubt we will get that many participants, but in the case that we exceed that number dice will be given out in order of who registered and paid). Top participants will also have the opportunity to earn Border Prince Bash trophies.

5$ NAF Membership (optional – you will get official NAF block dice and your results will be entered into the NAF rankings) We will have a NAF representative at the tournament so you can join/renew in person - this reduces the usual cost of 10$ to 5$

Schedule:
9:00-9:30 Registration & Pairings
9:30-11:45 Round 1
11:45-12:30 Lunch/Paint Judging
12:30-2:45 Round 2
2:45-3:00 Break
3:00-5:15 Round 3
5:30- 6:00 Awards Ceremony

What to Bring:
1) Your painted Blood Bowl team-- Feel free to bring any team from any designer. The team must have its players numbered clearly. The models you use MUST represent the position being played.
2) Your Blood Bowl Blocking Dice, templates, assorted bits, board, dugouts, etc.
3) A device that can connect to the internet and a charger if necessary. We will be using TourPlay as our tournament software, so we will need each coach to have access to a device so they can report their results themselves as they play. The tournament organizer will have one or two devices handy in the case of emergency, but it is expected that every coach brings their own (a smart phone works perfectly fine).

A quick description of the Border Princes from the Warhammer Wiki:
“The Border Prince Confederacy, also known as the "Borderlands,""The Frontiers" or simply as the "Border Princes," is a vast region within the Old World located between the Black Mountains and Black Fire Pass to the north and the shores of the Black Gulf to the south. This region of vast wilderness is home to a multitude of petty kingdoms of Men that were established by highly ambitious adventurers who sought to create a realm of their own. These adventurers were often political or religious refugees fleeing from other Human realms of the Old World such as the Empire, Bretonnia and Kislev.

As such, these lands are infamous as the homes of a wide variety of bandits, mercenaries, cut-throats, pirates and other lawless fugitives.”

Tournament Format:
Tournament will be a Swiss style, resurrection tournament. So any injuries your team suffers will not carry over to the next game. Each round will see a coach play against a random opponent. In each subsequent round, the highest ranked player plays the next highest ranked player they have not previously played. The roster you start the tournament with will be the same for each round you play.

Rules:
We will be using BB2020 rules pack in combination with the 2023 NAF guidelines for tournaments found here: https://www.thenaf.net/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/NAF-Tournament-Approval-Document-2023.pdf

All 29 NAF approved races will be allowed according to the NAF 2023 guidelines.

There will be no overtime.

In the spirit of good sportsmanship, Illegal Procedures will not be called -- please simply bring the issue to your opponent's attention and ask that he/she move their marker.

Weather Table: The standard Blood Bowl weather chart will be used

Kickoff Table: The following custom kickoff table will be used. The fans in the Border Princes are known as quite the rowdy bunch, and this kickoff table reflects that. (Note - almost every kick off event involves Dedicated Fans, it is highly advised that coaches purchase some amount of Dedicated Fans).

Border Princes Bash Custom Kick Off Table (D8)
1. Pitch Invasion - Both coaches roll a D6 and add their Dedicated Fans to the result. The coach that rolls the lowest randomly selects D3 of their players from among those on the pitch, in the case of a tie, both coaches randomly select D3 players from among those on the pitch. All of the randomly selected players are placed prone and become stunned.
2. Home Field Advantage - Each coach rolls D6 and adds their Dedicated Fans to the result. The fans of the winning team are able to slip one of the players their favorite weapon of choice. The winning coach randomly selects one of their players. That player receives the Mighty Blow (+1) skill for this drive. If the select player already has this skill, re-roll until a player without this skill is chosen. In the case of tie both coaches randomly select a player to receive this skill.
3. Getting in on the Action - Fouls are very popular in the Border Princes, and on this particular day the fans have decided to join in on the fun. Whenever either team fouls during this drive add a +1 to either the armor or injury roll (apply this the same way you apply dirty player or mighty blow - e.g. if the bonus is not needed for armor, you can apply it for injury). You cannot stack this bonus with dirty player to get a +2 modifier on one roll, however you may use dirty player on the injury roll if you used this bonus for the armor roll.
4. The Good Stuff - Both coaches roll a D6 and add their Dedicated Fans to the result. The fans of the winning team decide to give their KO’ed players some of ‘the good stuff’. When rolling for KO’s returning at the end of this drive, add a +1 modifier to the roll (this stacks with bloodweiser kegs). In the case of a tie stadium security has prevented the fans from reaching the dugout and neither team gets this bonus.
5. The Bad Stuff - Both coaches roll a D6 and add their Dedicated Fans to the result. The fans of the winning team attempted to slip their players some of “the good stuff” but accidentally gave them some of “the bad stuff”. The winning coach randomly selects a player on their team that does not already have the Projectile Vomit trait - this player gains this trait until the end of this drive.
6. Cheering Fans- Each coach rolls a D6 and adds their Dedicated Fans to the result. The winning team is buoyed up by their fan support and gains a free team re-roll for this drive. If it is not used by the end of the drive it is lost. In the case of a tie both teams receive a re-roll.
7. Heckling Fans -Each coach rolls a D6 and adds their Dedicated Fans to the result. The coach that rolled the lowest randomly selects one player from their team that does not already have the Bonehead trait - that player gains the Bonehead trait for the rest of this drive. They often get a little too preoccupied yelling obscenities back at the fans heckling them! In the case of tie, both coaches randomly select a player to receive the Bonehead trait.
8. Wizards Are Fans Too - Each coach rolls a D6 and adds their Dedicated Fans to the result. A Wizardly fan of the winning team has decided to cast a simple wind spell while the ball is in the air. The winning coach can move the ball up to three squares before it bounces (regular kickoff rules for the ball going out of bounds or into the kicking team’s half still apply).

At the beginning of each match, coaches will not roll for fan factor. As you can likely discern from the kickoff table we will be using Dedicated Fans ONLY. Not fan factor.

In addition to this kickoff table, the fans of the Border Princes love nothing more than a player being pushed into the crowd. Apply a +1 modifier each time when rolling for injury when a player is pushed into the crowd.

Team Creation:

The Border Princes is often described as a lawless and unforgiving area of the Old World. WIth that in mind, star players who can easily make money in the comfy confines of Altdorf rarely, if ever, make the trip down south. The following stars are banned for this tournament:

Griff Oberwald
Deeproot Strongbranch
Hakflem Shuttlespike
Kreek Rustgouger
Bomber Dribblsnot
Wilhelm Cheney
Cindy Piewhistle

You are given 1,100,000 million gold pieces to build your team using the BB2020 and NAF 2023 team lists. This gold may be used to purchase players, Star Players (after initial 11 have been purchased), Inducements and other team benefits (re-rolls, apothecaries, DEDICATED FANS).

You are not allowed to purchase assistant coaches and cheerleaders (they won’t be of any use with the custom kickoff table - just use your extra money to purchase some dedicated fans).

Available Inducements are: Bribes, Blood Wiser Kegs, Halfling Master Chef, Star Players
