RULES

This Jolt cup event will run with a simplified ruleset taken from the Eucalyptus Bowl being held in Sydney in June 2024.

The intent is to allow local coaches to get a taste of wider variety of rulesets, while also allowing those coaches that are attending the Eucalyptus Bowl to practice with their teams against a wider variety of opponents.

Jolt Cup 2023 events will use the rules as outlined in Blood Bowl Second Season Edition - The Official Rules, plus teams and inducements included in GW rules released 1 month prior to the event date.
teams

TEAM BUILDS

Coaches can select any team from the Bloodbowl rulebook, GW Spike Magazines, Teams of Legend document or Slann.

All teams have a value of 1,250,000, except Stunty which will be 1,350,000.

Stunty teams are Goblins, Ogres, Snotlings, and Halflings.

The gold can be spent on any combination of players, inducements and skills allowed by the Ruleset.

All teams must start with at least 11 players (including star players)

You must spend all your cash, or discard unspent funds. You cannot keep unspent funds in your treasury and spend it later, not can you use a lower TV to claim a roll on the Prayers to Nuffle table.

Each rostered player can be given at most one Normal skill, increasing their team value by 20k.

Teams are limited to selecting at most 2 of each non-General skill. Stunty teams are exempt from this restriction.

Star players will incur an additional 50k cost on top of their hiring value.

Teams can only have 1 star player (or rostered pair) on their team, except Stunty teams which can have 2 star players.

If both teams have the same star player rostered then they will not take the field. Instead a journeyman will play in their place.

Star Players cannot be given additional skills.

PRAYERS TO NUFFLE TABLE

A result of Cheering Fans on the Kick-Off Event Table will use the amended Prayers to Nuffle Table as per page 103 of The Official Rules.

RESURECTION TOURNAMENT

This tournament will be a resurrection tournament. After each round, teams will reset to their original roster. No injuries will carry over, and no SPP’s will be rec.

SWISS MATCH UP

This tournament will use the Swiss method to pair up coaches. Round 1 will be randomised, but from round 2 onwards, coaches will be matched up with other coaches with a similar record. So 1st place will play 2nd place, 3rd place will play 4th place, and so on. This ensures that all coaches get to play against coaches who are performing similarly.

SCORING

WIN: 5pts
DRAW: 2pts
LOSS: 0pts

Ensure you record all casualties for and against, and all touchdowns scored for and against. Casualties include those caused by fouls and the crowd, but NOT self-inflicted casualties, such as failed dodges and failed rushes.

TIEBREAKERS

At the end of the tournament, the following tie-breakers will be used in the event of a points tie:
1: Strength of Schedule
2: Touchdown difference (TD For minus TD Against)
3: Casualties difference (CAS For minus CAS Against)

DON'T FORGET

Don’t forget to bring your team, a board, dice and templates, PLUS two copies of your roster.
1: All matches will last 2 hrs and 15mins.
2: Matches are expected to have entered the second half with one hour remaining.
3: Coaches playing in matches not completed by the end of the allocated times will be allowed to complete their current turn only, ensuring that both coaches have had an equal number of turns.
4: Turn times will not be enforced, but coaches should aim for no more than 4 minutes per turn.

ROSTER SUBMISSION

All team rosters must be submitted 2 weeks prior to the tournament at the latest via email to almic85@hotmail.com

NAF SANCTIONED

This tournament will be an officially sanctioned NAF tournament. Coaches do not need to be NAF Members to participate, but NAF Members will receive ranking points for participating.
The NAF (www.thenaf.net) is an international association of players dedicated to Blood Bowl. Coaches are encouraged to become a NAF member prior to the tournament date.
