Painting - NAF legacy team 2005 - Lizzies paint choice

Tojurub - Apr 18, 2005 - 02:16 AM
Post subject: NAF legacy team 2005 - Lizzies paint choice
Ok everybody,

it was decided by vote that this years legacy team will be:

Lizardman

Now it's up to us to decide for color. Please do the following:

-Read the choices below
-Vote above (please only people who are participating)
-Write what color scheme you have voted for and what mini(s) you want to paint and what number it/they will get

Since so far only 16 people have volunteered to paint this year, I would like to ask everybody if the one or the other would be willing to paint more than one (e.g. two skinks). For the people who want to paint coaching staff, I'd like to have them paint a player as well. I'll try to contact GW and see if they can do the same as they did last year.

On top of that I would like to get an opinion about the bases. Since Lizards are crap when it comes to prone and stunned, I was wondering if we could go with square bases and write (or color code) Prone and Stunned on the sides.

Here are the color schemes:

1: Brownish with a hint of purple
2: Purple skin, cream/bone scales, underbelly (+ crests for skinks) with dark brown designs on the skull helmets and Black and gold armour.
3: Mix of interesting natural reptile colours for the skins and blue armour
4: Orange, yellow and black, like those venomous African frogs
5: Red and white (NAF colors)

(This poll will close after 15 days)

Ok...I'll go first Smile

I voted color scheme 4-"Venomous African frogs"

I'd do a Skink and a Saurus with numbers 7 and 14, respectively

I voted natural skin colours, but I think NAF uniforms would be good

I'll go for a skink (need to get one from somewhere)

#11

I'd love to do a skink and a saurus... Numbers are pretty up in the air for me. Smile

Just to mention, I picked #2 for the color scheme... Smile

And agreed... no square bases!! Very Happy

I voted for #2.

I'd like to paint a saurus. I think it's abit early to start doing two minis, so I'll just sign up for one for now. I'll take number 34 please.

Oh and square bases are crap Very Happy

I can do atleast 1 saurus and 1 skink and can take any unused numbers. I will be willing todo more minis if need be.

Color choice......2: Purple skin, cream/bone scales, underbelly (+ crests for skinks) with dark brown designs on the skull helmets and Black and gold armour.

Very Happy Hi !
I voted for scheme number 4, and i am ready to paint 2 skinks, so let's say number 16 and 42. Is that ok with you guys ?

I saw on saurday an undead team which was pro painted in black and yellow it was awesome and i definetly think that it would fit a lizardmen team.

And of course, this 2 colors are really hard to paint, so it may be a good challenge too !!

Cool

i would love to paint whatever's going. not that the pic is any good but my profile saurus should put me down in the option for silly skin. I dont mind at all the colour scheme but think the skin tone is more relavant than the actual kit.

Option 3 sounds nice - but not fussed. pretty sure any colour can be painted on them which suites me.

figs - i can convert a whatever... on link page 5 has captured my team liz team and the skinks look best but look forward any ideas. http://www.specialist-games.com/bloodbowl/assets/pdf/unofficial/bloodbowl.pdf

okay I voted, as for players.. Hmmm..

I like the idea of..

00 - skink ball returner from the kick off.. 'Nervy' Izabt Ikkibok.

and assisstant coach - 'Snake Eyes' the snakey, Ssnake-Snake. Cross-eyed play picker.

Ok,
I will volunteer for a skink #3 please Very Happy . Bases doesn't really matter so long as all but the Krox are on the exact same size/shape base. That said, I'd like to think as myself as open minded, especially with the board spaces being square, but it's hard for me to picture BB players(other than big guys) on square bases Confused . It's so silly but true Rolling Eyes Embarassed !! Anyway, I will NOT be "voting" on the bases if it comes to that, I will only suggest that "IF" square, than 25 MM (larger/orc) bases be used. I HATE those fiddly 20 mm (goblin) bases!! Mad

We are "officiall" booked with players. I was actually afraid that we wouldn't get all positions filled, but there were some people who hopped on the band waggon Very Happy

You guys are just amazing Smile

But since we have more participants on the original list and a whole bunch of people making two players I'd say, from this point on, if you want to paint for the team (the more the merrier): tell us.

Since I'm one of the people doing two, I'd step back (with one fig) and let somebody else participate. So if anybody wants to join, I'd give up my skink

Yeah, I can give up my skink too if more people want to join the fun. The more the merrier. Just from the experience of painting for the previous team, it's probably safe to say that a lot of those players that are "taken" will not get done... I wouldn't sit out if I wanted in, just paint something you want to (just make sure the # is not taken)... it's probably a good idea to have extras lined up.

After I came back from my trip to the US I found a small package from England on my doorstep. Andy wishes us good luck with this years legacy team and here is what he sent:

4 Sauri and 8 Skinks. Thank you very much Worship Very Happy

So here are two questions:

1) Does anybody plan on using their own mini or doing a conversion of some sort? Please let me and the rest of the painter know.

2) This question is directed towards our treasurer: Jim, do you think the NAF can chip in to get the remaining minis (2 Sauri, 4 Skinks, 1 Kroxigor)? Please let me know.

After these questions are answered I will start shipping the minis to the participants.

Thanks for your patients.

The cheerleader I'm doing is going to be a conversion with bits from my bitz box so I don't need a mini for "her". Wink

Sadly I don't think I've got any spare whole lizards around (many heads from the plastic set though), though I'll have a double check.

I was going to convert the Kroxigor any how so if need be I can work from any bits folks have lying around... scales can be green stuffed on so I can work from just a torso, legs, arms (all big sized but it doesn't really matter what they are from - rat ogre/kroxigor... something big) and a head would be nice, just need the basis of chunky, sharp teeth. He'll look like he's from some funky spawning but I'll make him fit. So I'll work from that or a whole mini... whatever is needed. Mr. Green

ok...today is the big day...at least for some.

I gave Musta Surma and Djengis their mini at the RDV, I gave Draco the mini for mepmuff (yes Drace, there were witnesses Wink )

The following minis went out today:
Saurus:
- Oddbourne (please put your nickname on you rmailbox, didn't have your real name when I mailed the letter)
- SBG
- Melifaxis
- Zinak (you are assigned #10 for this mini)

Skink:
- Lars
- LX2K
- Shadewe

The last three minis (sturmjarl, Zinak, Dark Dancer17) will be sent out by OMM after he received the order (I will supply you with the addresses by PM, Jim).
If you wonder why I picked these three. Well, Zinak and Dark Dancer doing 2 minis and they should have one to start with (Zinaks 1st is on its way)...and for sturmjarl: Bad location: OMM is close by so I figured the mailing time between Tampa and Orlando will be short.

I just made one mistake: I kept a skink instead of a Saurus. So question to sturmjarl: do you want to do a Saurus instead of a Skink? Or alternatively, Zinak: do you want to do a second Saurus instead of your Skink?

Have fun painting....and don't forget: Deadline is October
