Hey Xtreme, I see the Lil' Zlurp is coming up soon. How Zlurpee is a Lil' Zlurp?
Xtreme - Jun 08, 2006 - 08:59 PM
Post subject:
Half as Zlurpee as a Zlurpee Bowl. Wink

As far as Zlurpee news goes, I just found out that Tom won't be able to make it so there will not be a presentation on LRB 5.0.

Zlurp-Zlurp stadium is coming along smoothly and will be ready for the event, hopefully i'll have the pics of it up shortly after the Lil' Zlurp.

If you haven't pre-registered already please do, I imagine that after the Lil Zlurp (June 17th) the list will start to fill up.

Lots of prizes rolling in, and work has begun on the trophies.

Warmup tournament this Saturday, 'its all happening'.

And if I haven't mentioned it yet, free breakfast both mornings.

And something I'm pretty excited about just got a sample pic of the die.

The color of the dice will be the same but the pips will be Gold not white.

Just want to say thank you again to all that came out. It was a fun weekend.

Some updates so far,

NAF rankings
I have all the games entered in for those that were NAF members before the tournament. If you are one of the new signups or you played a game against one of the new signups it won't be in yet. When I get the usernames for those coaches the rest of the games will be entered. The rankings will update in the next day or two.

Pictures from the Tourney
I'll try to get them up tomorrow, but more likely it will be Tuesday afternoon.

It was a very good tourney, much fun was had by all...

And it was extremely Zlurpy.

We made it back to Michigan in 4 hours, so it wasn't that bad of a drive, either.

Joe's Vamps were really well painted.

True. Mike was certainly inflicting the pain with casualties (that last game was just painful). Crying or Very sad

Still, in the two games I played against him, I only saw him make one movement mistake. Making few/no mistakes combined with a little bit of luck = Zlurpee II championship for Mike.

What mistake did he make, if I may ask? (And what mistakes did you spot me make?)

I have to say that Mike certainly was no slouch of a coach. I enjoyed playing against him, moaning about my luck aside. Nice painting on those Slaaneshi too...

He left his minotaur sitting on the sideline after a frenzy block. Unfortunately, I chose not to take advantage of it; I used my blitz to get the ballcarrier instead...

I'll post later if I recall specific "mistakes" you made (will have to think about it some). Mike's games are both fresh in my head since I played him twice yesterday.

In the CRUMBBL league, Mike made it to the semi finals with his Pleasure Seekers. Usually his dice betray him during the game. I beat him with my Amazons but it was an incredibly close game and could have gone either way.

The only thing I can recall is kind of general. I thought that, at times, you allowed my frenzy blitzer to influence you too much. Of course, you do want to keep track of the frenzy player, but there were a couple times when I thought you avoided doing something you should have done. That was, basically, the only thing I can remember (that could be called a mistake, anyway).

hmmm... and here I thought I was letting Zug influence me too much... I actually didn't really remember paying too much attention to the frenzy guy, I think I took him out of the game after a little while, didn't I? It's all getting too hazy.

Zug may have been influencing you, but I don't remember it being too much influence. In other words, I never thought there was a mistake on your part. Zug just is, well, Zug.

I remember one time in particular, though, where you had a chance to blitz my ball carrier and chose not to because my frenzy player was nearby. I thought the blitz was the right move. (As I recall, you actually said "I don't want to do that because of the frenzy player.") I don't recall how the turn progressed from there (if I scored or if you stopped me), but I thought the best play, on that turn, was to hit the ball carrier. Of course, if you roll double skulls or whatever, then I'm free to frenzy you out of bounds... At any rate, I do remember being happy that you did not blitz my ball carrier. I also remember feeling quite fortunate that I managed to eek out a tie in this game.

Maybe mistake is not the correct term. Maybe it was just a conservative play. And with Chaos Dwarves, it's never bad to just try to beat down your opponent's players and then get the ball...

I'm also a player in the CRUMBBL league and wanted to congratulate Mike on his victory. It's always cool to see one of your homeboys take home the championship. Glad I didn't play him last season (hahahaha) Big Ups Mike!
I can't wait to play in the Chaos Cup this year!
