Post subject: Vote for an NAF Legacy Team 2006 race!
Please vote, IF and ONLY IF you will be contributing a mini. Also please reply and consider this the official signup list for the team. We will run this poll for 14 days, ending on September 1st, 2006. That still leaves us four months to get the team painted and assembled before the end of the year.

I vote Dwarf, but am happy to try my hand at painting anything really

I'm in - I voted for Wood Elves.

1) They can combat the TBB Dark Elves
2) They stand a chance of being a winning team for whoever wins it.

I'm in for Dwarfs. I'll paint whatever though.

I voted for Chaos Dwarves, because this is one of the teams I don't have Very Happy
I contributed to the TBB 2006 Legacy team and I will happily contribute to this team as well.

I think an Ogre team would be a lot of fun, with a lot of room for cool conversions. I will gladly contribute to the team.

I'm voting Ogre...

But next questions are:

1. Are we only using GW models?

2. Are we building a team based on LRB4 or LRB5? Makes a difference with some teams have new positions or associated races (Ogre, Dark Elf, etc...)

I voted for Nurgle's Rotters. I think they would be cool. Like the others, though, I will paint anything.

I would think this team would be based on LRB 5.0.

LRB5 is official now and most tournaments seem to be taking it up. I think we need to make a LRB5 team, whichever one is chosen in the end.

I see no reason we should restrict ourselves to using strictly GW models, unless there's some restriction I'm unaware of. Unless GW is supplying us with a team to paint, it might be hard for us to all get the specific models from GW and we can get more variation from other types of models.

Voted Nurgle. Would like to see that one done.

I the past GW has alway donated the team for us to paint. Also, some people made conversions. In order for the winner to be able to use the team at official GW tournemants we should try to keep the majority of the team with GW minis (a few non-GW won't hurt)

I voted for Nurgle (hope nobody minds my presumption that I can join in!). It gives the chance for some interesting conversions and paint jobs IMHO.

As far as GW models, I'm happy to stick with them if that's what is wanted.

who has contacted/worked with GW about these before?

I don't really mind going and purchasing one or two minis and spendig the time to paint and mail off, but if we could get some free minis to paint then that would be awesome.

I think waiting for GW to send us minis is too much of a hassle. It just takes to long to get them and then send them to the participants. Look at the current TBB Legacy team. We started in March or April and we are still not finished. And we didn't have to wait for the minis to be sent around. And what about people that want to participate and get a mini, but never get around to painting it? Do they just keep the minis? I think it is just too much trouble.

I'd say everyone uses their own mini and "donates" it.

All three of the Legacy teams I've been involved with (Chaos, Lizards, Goblins) have been supplied by the painters, never by GW. I understand that GW has helped out some since then, but I don't know any details. Still, I might have a few contacts still -- I can try to get in touch with them if you guys want.

The Inaugural team, Vampires, in '03 had models donated by GW. I know cause I painted one that was donated. It was pretty cool, for if I remember right the Vamp models had not been officially released at the start of the team construction.

We've got about 20 votes now and the Rotters are running away with it. I think we can probably expect that to be the winner, although I won't close the poll until Friday. If we do the rotters, should we do an LRB 4.0 or 5.0 team? Any ideas?

I voted Wood elf but will be happy doing any team. I also think we should do lrb 5 stuff

LRB 5 definitely. If you want to play them actually, LRB 5 is the way to go. Almost every tournament next year will be LRB5 and most local leagues would be there by then too.

LRB 5.0

I can handle painting rotters, although I voted for dwarfs.
Spazzfist - Aug 22, 2006 - 09:13 AM

LRB 5.0 definitely. It is the new system and also allows for a wider variety of positions to paint.

If you need another painter, I would be happy to lend my services.
