The Holiday Inn Castle Marina has agreed to the following rate and has set aside seventy (70) twin bed rooms for the coaches' use from Oct. 18 through Oct. 21. These rooms are at a cost of 80 GBP for each night (40 GRP per person in a double room) and include English breakfast and parking. These rooms will become available as a block BEGINNING MONDAY, MAY 28th on a strictly first-come, first-served basis.

NOTE: In order to book this special rate, coaches must call the hotel directly: in the UK (0115+9934020) and ask for the "World Cup Blood Bowl" special rate.

Also, the Holiday Inn Express at City Centre, which is approximately one (1) mile away from the Castle Marina and GW Headquarters, has given the NAF a commitment of seventy (70) rooms - both twin and double - at a rate of 68 GBP per room per night (34 GBP per person for room with twin beds) which also includes breakfast. These rooms will be held as a block until August 1st, 2007, although the rate will still be available if requested. The telephone number in the UK for this hotel is 0870+4176000. Note please that this hotel is further away and the price DOES NOT include parking per night....

Coaches may also wish to contact the Premiere Travel Inn Castle Marina, which is directly next door to the Holiday Inn Castle Marina ??? while there are not as many rooms, there are sometime Internet rates which may be a better deal...

For clarification: this is a total bed count for more than 240 coaches, so let the party planning commence!!!

For further information or questions, please send a PM.

Is this £80 per NIGHT or per DURATION (i.e. the three nights of Thurs, Fri & Sat combined)?

Shocked £80 per night is way too high. I'd honestly be very surprised if you had many takers at that price.

You can get a travel lodge family room for 2-3 people for around £55 a night. There are a few Travel Lodges in Nottingham. At least one is pretty close by.

And I''m sure there'd be lots of other hotels in Nottingham offering rooms at £20-30 per person per night.

Provided people book in advance they should be able to get a room for significantly less than your deal with Castle Marina... Confused

not supprised they agreed to that rate TBH sounds like they're taking us for a ride as advance b+b bookings are £81.33 anyways

I agree with pippy there are alot of better alternatives in the area and there is a travel lodge right next door to this hotel where a room is 50gbp per niight for the room not per person

I agree... there are better deals out there if coaches are willing to stay further away or book via the Internet which does not allow for cancellations, etc. However these hotel rooms work out to 34 to 40 GBP person in a two person room, including breakfast and at the Castle Marina, free parking. I strongly encourage everyone to find lodging where they are most comfortable and can afford - given the many and somtime competing variables, this was the best deal I could find.

I am staying at the Travel Inn at Castle Marina. Coming out to about 58GPB per night. Here is the information if anyone is interested. This doesn't include breakfast however. Make sure you ask for a TWIN room Smile hehe. Here in the US if you ask for a double room, usually means 2 beds.. obviously not the case in GB Smile hehe.

Yup, we've gone with the Premier Travel Inn too (right next door to the Holiday Inn, free parking too and not really that different in quality tbh)

Thanks again OMM for the info - just a bit of a pity you couldn't get some sort of deal for the Premier Travel Inn instead of the Holiday Inn.

They just did not have enough rooms that could be sold in a block - 29 room was the highest they would commit to, and it simply was not enough... I'm glad though that you have found it Geoff and are taking advantage of it... It appears that a number of the French had found the youth hostel towards the railway station a viable alternative... although it is several miles away from the venue and getting started on time will now be a greater challenge... Very Happy Wink

UPDATE: The Holiday Inn Castle Marina staff have informed us that they are beginning to release the rooms blocked for the World Cup and will continue to reduce the number as other requests are made from other groups. If any coach or team has not yet booked for the World Cup and desire to stay at the Holiday Inn locations, I would encourage you to do so quickly as the rooms will be disappearing steadily over the next two or three weeks.
