NAF World Cup - NAF World Cup Open Ticket Purchase and Registration

Old_Man_Monkey - Jul 16, 2007 - 02:03 AM
Post subject: NAF World Cup Open Ticket Purchase and Registration
Hello and good morning to all NAF members:

This topic is for those coaches wishing to purchase a ticket or tickets (up to six) to the upcoming NAF World Cup in October 2007. The procedure is as follows:

(1) Please post your name, NAF number and nickname, and the number of tickets you wish to purchase to this thread. You MUST also post the email address you will use to pay for your ticket via the NAF Paypal account: nuffle@bloodbowl.net - so that the payment may be more easily tracked within the NAF Paypal account;

(2) Once you have posted your request with the above information, the Treasurer will acknowledge the request as soon as possible by EDIT to give you a NAF World Cup ticket number or numbers:

(3) You will then have seventy-two (72) hours to pay for your ticket ??? tickets are forty-five (45) GBP each and no more than six tickets can be ordered by a single member during this open registration period. The following rules apply:
a. If there has not been a Paypal payment to the account using the email listed, the Treasurer will attempt to contact the member who posted to resolve any issues.
b. If the ticket has not or cannot be paid for in the allotted time, it will be re-listed on this thread as once again for sale.
c. Any ticket put back into the open registration pool will first be offered to any coaches who have posted and are on the waiting list (see below).

(4) There are currently thirty (30) tickets ??? five (5) teams - available and sales will continue until these tickets are sold, or until 5:00PM, August 10th, 2007, at which time the open registration period will close.

(5) WAITING LIST: After the tickets are sold, coaches who still wish to attend the NAF World Cup tournament are strongly encouraged to post their coaching information, as this thread will be used (1) to create the official waiting list for those coaches still wanting to purchase a ticket, and (2) by those teams who unexpectedly lose a coach or coaches and need to find a replacement.

(6) Every effort will be made to develop and organize teams of six coaches in order to balance the team nature of the event ??? should it arise that an unequal number of tickets are sold, the NAF Organizing Committee reserves the right to take whatever measures it deems necessary to balance the tournament teams for proper play, up to and including the refunding of tickets purchased. This will be the very last resort and will only be done after all other means of creating a fair and complete system of play have been exhausted.

The organizing committee has long recognized that the open ticket purchase would be the most complex period of the ticketing process ??? it has been designed to be as open, transparent, and fair as possible. We appreciate the high level of interest in the NAF World Cup by the members and appreciate your help and understanding as we complete the World Cup registration.

Please send PM with any questions.

EDIT: The World Cup is now officially sold out. Any member wishing to be placed on the waiting list, please refer to the separate thread in the 'Announcements' area. Thank you!

I need one more ticket for team Cornwall.

Luke Remnant
NAF - 10946
NAF Name - Grimlock180

Payment has been sent from valen_swift1@yahoo.co.uk

EDIT: Hello Gav! The NAF has already received full payment for Team Cornwall. If this is for a seventh coach to serve as substitute, then that fine. However, if this is to replace a coach, just send Lycos and me the coaching info for the change and Team Cornwall will be set - no other payment is needed and I will reverse the Paypal receipt. Just let me know please.... Thanks! OMM

This was posted on another thread and I am re-posting it here so that everyone is clear about how additional team members might purchase tickets for the World Cup:

For those coaches who are attending as a SUBSTITUTE for a team, please DO NOT purchase one of the open registration tickets - these places are for coaches who wish to be part of a six-member team and are not yet part of an announced team. The organizing committee will develop the procedures to register and pay for any coaches attending the World Cup as a SUBSTITUTE for an existing team. The most likely procedure will be that a substitute will be able to register as part of a team, with the approval of the Team Captain and the RTC for the area, and pay for a separate pass after August 20th, when we have finalized the list of team and open registrations... The ticket cost will be the same, as a substitute will receive all the benefits of a team coach: meals, premiums, etc.

Please PM me directly if you have any questions.

Announcement to all Members regarding Open Ticket Registration for the NAF World Cup::

After several long discussions with the GW Events Team and the managers of the White Hart pub, the ticket cap (the maximum number of seats) for this October's World Cup has been changed to Two Hundred Seventy-Six (276). As this is a slight change in the figure previously announced, I wanted to let the membership know of the several reasons for this decision.

First, there was some concern about being able to host all the coaches together in one venue should the number grow by too much more - the event is now already divided into two locations and bringing a third location into the mix seemed far too unwieldy.

There is also the need to proceed with the finalization of the programme and the logistics of all the activities being planned - without reaching a final number, this planning and development of the event cannot progress.

There also was the concern of not having enough volunteers to run the event efficiently. At the current level, there need be only six (6) tickets sold and the current volunteer pool is sufficient to handle this if needed - but add one more ticket sold (7) and five more volunteers are needed! The tournament had been budgeted with a Two Hundred Forty (240) coach target since the outset and the interest and enthusiasm has far exceeded this number - the response has been superb.

Finally it appears that nearly all of those coaches aware and willing to venture to Nottingham UK for an October's weekend of Blood Bowl have made their plans and become already a part of the legend... there is room for one (1) more team and then everyone can make their plans for Nottingham.

As I've posted, we have already exceeded expectations by 15% of the number we thought would come - (Deathwing, looks as if you win the wager!). I trust the members will understand the need to now make final preparations and begin putting up the information each captain and team member will need.

As of this date, the tournament is subscribed with 270 coaches with tickets numbers 270, 272, 273, 274, 275, and 276 remaining (the slight out of sequence occured when two tickets were returned....) and I of course strongly encourage anyone who has not yet purchased a ticket to do so immediately....

Once again, and not for the last time, I want to thank everyone who has expressed interest and helped with this event. It should truly be a remarkable three days of Blood Bowl and hopefully will demonstrate to many the NAF's strength and resolve in support of the game of Blood Bowl.... as well as one heckuva good time!

Thanks again - please PM me with any questions or concerns.
