Hi,
After suggestions from the community, we revert to the following in an attempt to get everyone in:
We’ll open the pre-registration on December 22.
If more teams than those allocated to a country are registered on the NAF website, then the organization will organize a draw on the 6th of January. Teams that, after the draw, are not entered in the World Cup will be listed on a reserves list. For other countries, the 22nd of February will remain the closing date for application. After this date, we will draw teams randomly, although countries with few allocated spots on the original list will get better draw chances (like Austria, Portugal etc).
Payment has to be organized after the 22nd of February in a two weeks period. Teams who’ll drop out or don’t pay in this period will clear their spot for another team from their country if possible. It that's not possible a random team from the reserves list will be allowed to arrange payment and enter the tournament.
This quotum looks as follows:
Denmark - 4
Italy - 7
Australia/New Zealand - 4
USA – 4
Canada - 4
Austria – 1
Switzerland - 1
Spain - 7
Dutch - 4
Germany - 5
France - 8
UK/British Isles - 7
Belgium - 5
Portugal – 1
Other - 2
10 places single registration
These quota will be in effect untill February 18th 2011, 14:00 CET. After that you can (pre-) register for any leftover places on a first come first served basis. Also please note that last time’s winners are entitled one of France’s eight team allocations.

A team should consist of six coaches that are bound by one way or another. This can mean they’re all from the same country, gaming club, share first name or adore the same Blood Bowl – related deity (or whatever you silly-minded men can come up with). Also each coach must already be a NAF member when registrating for the tournament. Please note that as it’s the NAF World Cup the title can only be won by a team consisting of coaches that have the same nationality.

After suggestions from the community, we will revert to the following in an attempt to get everyone in:
We’ll open the pre-registration on December 22.
If more teams than those allocated to a country are registered on the NAF website, then the organization will organize a draw on the 6th of January. Teams that, after the draw, are not entered in the World Cup will be listed on a reserves list. For other countries, the 22nd of February will remain the closing date for application. After this date, we will draw teams randomly, although countries with few allocated spots on the original list will get better draw chances (like Austria, Portugal etc).
Payment has to be organized after the 22nd of February in a two weeks period. Teams who’ll drop out or don’t pay in this period will clear their spot for another team from their country if possible. It that's not possible a random team from the reserves list will be allowed to arrange payment and enter the tournament.

Better if one member of the organization answers to this question, but, with the present situation of 6 German teams and 5 spots, if one of the 5 teams with a guaranteed place draws back, you would get its place. I don't know what would happen if a 7th German team shows up (I guess a draw would be made to see which one takes the place of the team that draws back and which one stays in the wait list).

Yes and no.
If a German team withdraws their place before the 22nd, then you automatically take their spot.
But if none do, you are in the drawing pool with the other teams.
If teams don't pay up in the two appointed weeks, then the few remaining teams who lost out, will get a shot at their places.

Questions:
Are 'new' teams from over-subscribed countries ( i.e. entered after the first draw) going straight in to the second draw with the teams that were unlucky in the first draw?
Will the second draw have available slots allocated per country? ( i.e. France gets x more slots, UK y more slots, Spain z more slots etc.) If so, will this be based broadly on original allocations per country or on the evident demand per country?
Or are we looking at a simple 'everybody in one pot' scenario?
Just seeking some clarification on how the second draw is going to work. Apologies if I've overlooked anything.

The simple math means that there's then 21 teamspots left to fill.
We'll fill those by first give each country that had more subscriptions than their respective quota an additional teamspot (for the moment that'll mean 7 more teams allowed). After this (14 teamspots left) we'll divide those between Italy, UK, France and Spain; we'll obviously take the amount of preregistrations into account here. We can't give the final amounts yet as there may still be teams that preregister.

I have to disagree - it's good news that more room has been found, but having a 2nd venue that far away from the main venue (especially for so few) is a bad thing. I thought the one thing learnt from the 1st WC was that it was a much better idea to have everyone in one place - really bad for the social side as well.

No problems, its Canteloup that in the wheelchair, as im sure many UK players will know as he attends tournaments here, usually we put him at a table and his opponents come to him, its much easier that way!!

maybe to have two venues is not the perfect solution.... but if in this way everyone who wants can play the tournament, i preffer it so much over to have only one venue but with people out of the event!!

Exactly - teams that spent most (all!) of their time in the "other" venue during WC1 seemed a bit left out on the social side at times (I spent most of the time reffing there). There was a round of applause for Team USA when they managed to leave the White Hart for round 9 (the only time iirc).
And just for 24? Maybe for 100+ I could understand, but 24 players (4 teams) seems a bit daft.

As I said earlier, people moaned about the 5 minute walk between the White Hart and GW at the last WC, especially if they/their team yo-yoed between venues.

I share Darkson's opinion. A 2nd venue for 24 people is something "uncomfortable". A 15 min walk also looks like some bigger breaks between the rounds as the participants are in rush to change between the venue if they had to. And in some discomfort they have to change for the next round again if they win/loose the following roud.
This can end in some exercise
(I also thought that one of the main point to select the venue out of the 3 options was to host the WC II at one location due the experiences from WC I...)

4 teams more is something important. We will know exactly what it means in a few weeks but at the moment it seems it can divide by two the number of refused coachs.
(and to be clear, I really understand what you mean, it would be better for coachs and more simple for organizers with everybody in the same place... but, well, there's no ideal solution now, only a choice to be done)

World Cup is only once every four years. In theory, I have no problems with that. But if I miss this one, I will have waited 8 years between WC I and WC III... At the moment, 2nd draw haven't been made and I could have the chance to attend even without the 4 more teams slots in the bar but I clearly prefer to have twice more chances to come even if I will sometimes walk and/or wait a bit more.
Come'on Darkson, only 4 teams on 78 will be in the bar, you shouldn't play your 9 games in !
(and, seeing your signature, if you want to be Louis X butcher, you should accept to give him also twice more chances to attend!)

Yes. I thought one of the criteria for having WCII was to avoid the dual-location scenarion that WC1 had.
But...
If there has to be 2 locations, make it worthwhile (10+ teams). 24 is pathetic (sorry, but it is), and teams there are going to be feeling left out, especially if they spend a lot of time there.
It's also a pain in terms of results, as the results will need to be shuttled back and forth. Don't just think about the teams moving (the "extra 1/2 hour between rounds" argument used above), the teams can't move until they know where they're going, and they won't know that until the results have been transported, entered and the next round sorted.

What if youve got a team member in a wheelchair ?? its not as easy as loading your models into a case and "trotting Off" down the road!! However, if you make the smaller venue the "ELITE" (top teams) neither myself or Darksons team will mind too much i suspect.....

I hate the second venue idea personally.
It potentially destroys the atmosphere of the tournament imo.

as lizardcore, i think making the alternative venue the 'Elite' place is better. because the 'elite0' players will go there with a better spirit. if you loose several rounds and have to go in another place, it looks like ashame, and this cuts down your motivation. if it is because of winning i think it will be easier.
in all case this is not perfect.

So the Danish teams are supposed to drink less than normal? 
That´s unfair forcing us to play bad just to get drunk
Not that I care much, however where will most people be interested in seeing other matches? Low tables or high tables?
If there are interest in seeing the high placed games I think they should be placed in the major venue - depending on the time schedule it´s also very important for those playing to be in the top that their games aren´t cut because of lack of time. Will the distance between the places mean that?

and in 2011 maybe some technological artifact can handle the view problem.

His NAF number is identical of course (10041), but now his forum pseudo is now "poundfist" instead of civilian_number_two. If you could update the prereg list to reflect this that would be great. ScottyM joined the ANZACS and we pickedup Doubleskulls and hipcat has a naf number now
