Hey guys,

Just wondering how many others attending the WCII have completed the full 24 teams? 5 of the guys from our team (team wombat from Australia) have completed the 24 & wouldnt mind having a drink/chat with any others who have completed what we call the 24 fold path.

Maybe on the Saturday night within the other social stuff?

Several people in the UK have who'll be there:
Lycos
Podfrey
Don_Vito
Geggster

Did I miss anyone out?

Why the 'fold path'? We just call it 'The 24'.

Well we joke that doing the 24 is like a new sect within the bloodbowl religion, & we try to evangelise it at the tourneys - several people down here are over halfway now.

the 24 fold path just makes it sound funnier in that context.

My club "carnage club" also follows a stricter interpretation - once you start on the path, you cant play a team twice until you are done.

It took a while..... when I started there were only 4 tourneys in Oz annually - now we are up to about 30.

Hi,

I thought about doing that too, but currently I play only 2 tournaments per year... So getting to the last 13 would take me some time, and, more importantly, I'd rather play teams I like and have a fun tournament.
I dont think I'd enjoy playing a 2 day tournament with slann, khemri, norse, vampires.
I'd rather play a team in a tournament I enjoy... Smile

It's not ment to berate you guys or anything, but it wont be for me. I agree it would be fun to have played them all, I dont have the time at this point in my life. That's what you get with 2 kids and a full time job I guess.

I will, however, after this year is over, take up a team I didnt play before and see how far that will get me. Thinking of playing 1 team per year on official tournaments... something like that.

11 down, 13 to go...? Very Happy By that time both of my kids should join the tournament scene, if it's still there.

I can fold a bit of paper in half 24 times.

I'll be sat in the corner by myself as the only member of the 4 majors club, at least that's what I'll tell myself

One of my bloodbowl aims is to have the 24 fully painted teams (only 3 missing...) but I also think it will take me a long long time before having played the 24 in NAF tournaments. Wink

21 and counting - if all goes to plan, will finish the 24 by this time next year.

Sadly, with the 3 teams I have left to play, the WC won't cover one of them!

I didnt mean to come across all elitist on this - sorry if it came out that way. Really just an excuse for more drinking.

Grumbledook you'll have to come down for CANCON (oz nationals) sometime.... & let me know how much better England is at rugby like you did at Spiky 07 Smile

JaM - yes well I cant say I really truly enjoyed playing some of the teams (in a competitive enviroment anyway). They were fun, sure, they all are; but if I do go in a tourney just for fun its Halflings or Ogres.

Anyway - see you there! Or at Bunkerbowl II, KlingenCon 33 & Ambowl II.

Doesn't come across elitist. The 24 thing is just something else to work towards, adds an extra dimension to going to tourneys.

I've played about 70 NAF tourneys and only managed about 11 different races, but I prefer to play with my own painted teams and am far too lazy a painter to paint all 24!

Nope, not elitist. Hell, I'd do it myself if I visited more tournaments... And I am guilty of thinking about doing that, as well.
It's just that nowadays I dont have the time to visit more tournaments per year, so I'd better go and enjoy the ones I go to Smile.

Now, it seems like a 'waste' of a tournament-weekend to me.

But as far as excuses for drinking: yes, that's a fine excuse right there. Smile
See you on the field!
Or in the pub, that's good as well Very Happy

Cheers,

JaM

Limiting this to just the standard teams is weird. You should at least also have played all the Colleges Teams if you want to be considered a "changing teams player" Razz

BTW, there are "only" 17 different colleges and as far as I know only one Colleges of Magic tournament. So to "belong" will take a bit more....:p

Of course this is not NAF, but that was not mentioned in the initial post.Wink
