Glad you like it. It really needs an overhaul since the main structure is about 8 years old and the number of tournaments, coaches etc makes the files very big.

How is that single stat calculated? Only I'm currently 14th with a ranking of 252.47, although I only just got my first ever 200+ NAF Ranking after this World Cup. Surely somekind of mistake?

I suspect it is performance of a coach against the average performance with the different races they have used.

e.g. if you havea CR of 200 with a race that averages 160 then you are very good but if you also have a CR of 160 with a race that averages 200 then that balances out. But if you are consistently above average in terms of performance/races played then your single rating will be higher that your highest rating for any idividual race.

Post subject: RE: Re: RE: Results
Single stat just ignores the race actually used and otherwise works out your ranking as if you played every game with the same race.

The "alternative" ranking is actually a more accurate measure of ability. This is because the standard NAF formula undervalues the importance of rating difference when calculating the odds of victory (i.e. the likelihood of the overdog winning is higher than calculated, so they get too many points for each win).

Still not sure I understand it, I'll just assume it's cause I've played all 24 races semi-competently?

Just imagine a world with no races, and what the NAF rankings would be, that's what the single ranking represents. Having played all 24 its effective the aggregate of all your performances.
