Hi,
hopefully this thread will contain all the information you need about the 3rd NAF World Cup. It will mirror the one on the NAF forum. There is also a Facebook event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/287321511469902

Website now live! http://worldcup.luccini.it/

Link to World Cup Q&A Thread on the NAF Forum

When?
6th - 8th November 2015

Where?
Lucca, Italy: http://www.luccafiere.it/come_raggiungerci.php

How?
The structure is the same as last time:
- 6 players per team
- 9 games over 3 days

Here is the full Rules Pack.
- German rules document
- French Rules Pack

You can find lots of details about the Italian bid from the bid document on this thread: http://member.thenaf.net/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=6198

And you can get a taste of Lucca from this video, found in the bid document: http://www.luccini.it/wc2015/Lucca.wmv

We'll look forward to seeing all of you there.

Hello I have a question about the skill that I assign on the third day.
The English infopack said "2 Regular Skills OR 1 Double Skill OR 1 Skill to a player that has already received one"
The French infopack said "2 compétences simples OU 1 compétence doublel OR 1 compétence simpleàun joueurqui a déjà bénéficié d’1 compétence simple (mais pas d’1 double)"
The German infopack said"2 reguläre Skills ODER 1 Double Skill ODER 1 regulärer Skill an einen Spieler, der bereits einen regulären oder Double Skill erhalten hat"
What is the correct version that I stressed?
Another question when I assign a Double skill is obbligatory double or I can assign instead a regolar skill?

It seems that the French document above is not the most recent version. We'll get that replaced ASAP.

For the record: Tier 1 cannot stack skills on a player with a double. Tiers 2 and 3 can.

You do not have to take a double skill. I'm not sure this needs a clarification as it's not usually mentioned in other tournament manuals.

Well, we didn't see there was a topic here to announce teams.

At least 27 french teams should come (Italians are our neighbours!). Won't list them all but curious can find them here : http://teamfrancebb.positifforum.com/t3352-qui-qui-vient-a-la-wordl-cup-iii (they're all listed in the 1st post by Lord M who updates his list many times a week).)

question to NAF-management:
is there somewhere a complete list of (active) NAF-coaches per country? I used the coach locator list, but since there is an opt-in/out-function and the list most likely contains former (inactive) members, it is probably not entirely correct....but gives a good indication.

148 teams submitted, 888 players to come, 22 countries involved from Europe, America and Oceania

Scotland voted to be part of UK, and Wales didn't get to vote (yet)....so basically 20 countries Razz

Allow me. "Although the United Kingdom, as a sovereign state, is a country, England, Scotland, Wales, and to a lesser degree, Northern Ireland, are also regarded as countries, though they are not sovereign states." link
So 22 countries then. Very Happy

you mean this: World Cup 2015 : relative representation?

that doesn't give absolute numbers, just relative....anybody in the NAF management should have the numbers, shouldn't he? It would rellay be nice to have a statistic somewhere on the NAF-site to show that (in my opinion)

The number taken from the 'Coach Locator' is unfortunately wrong - at least when it comes to the number of Danish coaches. There's a lot of coaches missing from that list.

Same for France (and for most countries I suppose). Many french coaches didn't full their profile to say they're french but they are. Wink

You could also look at the national rankings to know how many coaches are ranked (even if it's hard to count as many coaches have played a lot of different rosters).

This way I'm counting 108 Danish coaches registred but I'm quite sure that some, if not a lot, of them are not playing regularly...

Hey Mike....why didn't you tell me about this?

http://www.thenaf.net/2015/02/active-naf-members-snapshot/

Oventa told me that.

What do "active" mean?

If coaches who play tournaments but don't connect on NAF website aren't active, non english speaking countries have a lot of non active coaches who'll be at world cup. Wink

[note that I would prefer non english speaking coaches as my french counterparts to regularly come on the NAF website but welll... most of them don't]

In my opinion, number of games played by countries used by Joemanji is a good indicator (= about me, it seems to be the best indicator we have, even if it's not perfect)
